Leo Burnett names Doskow CMO
Emily Doskow has been announced as Chief Marketing Officer at Publicis Groupe’s Leo Burnett. Reporting to North America CEO Andrew Swinand, she will drive Leo Burnetts business growth by drawing on the agencys creative firepower, now backed by Epsilons data assets, and allowing the agency to understand people at the individual level.

Doskow rejoins Leo Burnett, where she won Ad Age’s 2011 ‘Marketer of the Year’ and spent several years leading the Coca-Cola account team. Between her stints at Leo Burnett, Doskow spent three years at the helm of business development, architecting the teams and processes that led to significant global-scale wins, and helping build and market new capabilities to drive organic growth for Energy BBDO and helped build the business development practice for VSA Partners.

“Im incredibly proud to return to Leo Burnett, where my passion for driving agency growth really began,” said Doskow. “More than anyone, Burnetters know what it takes to be both timely and timeless—helping brands move at the speed of culture while also ensuring they stand the test of time. Pair of key hires made at R/GA
R/GA, IPG’s innovation consultancy, has brought in Ashish Prashar as Global Chief Marketing Officer and Rowena Vithlani as Executive Client Services Director at R/GA London.

Prashar, who begins the role on 2 March, will oversee the global marketing function for R/GA with responsibility for market strategy, brand, and corporate communications. He joins from Publicis Sapient with over 15 years of experience.

Prashar is also known for justice reform activism, having created programmes for incarcerated peoples following his own incarceration and campaigned for bail reform, the ending of solitary confinement, and the restoration of voting rights. He recently worked with the Vice-Chair of the Democratic National Committee for Joe Biden’s 2020 Presidential Election and previously served as a campaign Press Secretary for Boris Johnson in his Mayor of London days.

“I feel honoured to contribute my experience to an already dynamic legacy and I have a special place in my heart for those who use their creativity, technology, and their platform to drive social change,” said Prashar. “R/GA is that kind of modern company. Im looking forward to helping Sean and R/GA grow, build and execute the next generation of digital businesses using mission-driven innovation and technology to design better experiences for the human future while helping brands become better citizens of the world.”

Vithlani will be responsible for the leadership of R/GA Londons senior client relationships, growing the agency’s client services team and leading strategic partnerships to help clients navigate industry disruption.

Vithlani joins R/GA from AnalogFolk, where she held the role of Managing Partner. Here, she led the implementation of AnalogFolk’s marketing innovation capability and output, building and leading multi-disciplinary teams to create and deliver work for clients including The Coca-Cola Company, BT Group, and Unilever. Before that, she held roles at Sapient Razorfish, AKQA, and BBH London.

“After meeting Becs [Rebecca Bezzina], and the new leadership team she’s building, I was inspired by the direction the agency is moving. Havas appoints Bland to newly created role
Paul Bland has been hired by Havas Media Group as Head of Biddable Media. He will lead the 100-plus digital specialists in Havas Media Group’s UK and international teams, who will now come together under a new biddable team structure. He will set the strategic vision for all biddable channels, and work to deliver greater cross-channel agility to further drive client business performance, all fuelled by data and insights.

Bland joins from iProspect, where he spent nearly six years and was most recently Head of Performance Strategy within the agency’s leadership team, responsible for driving growth and innovation across digital and performance products and solutions, contributing to winning new business, and developing new partnerships with brands. He previously held positions at MediaCom and Equimedia.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be leading Havas Media Group’s biddable operation and can’t wait to get started on a mission to make digital and biddable the most meaningful media for brands,” said Bland. “This move comes at a genuine pivot point for media, with shifting consumer behaviours and expectations driven by tectonic change, leading to far more direct connection between people and brands.

Laycock elevated to CEO at Incubeta
Incubeta, an independent digital marketing services group, has promoted Sally Laycock to UK Chief Executive Officer. She will be tasked with continuing to drive Incubeta’s growth trajectory through the innovation of services and products and will also join the global Incubeta steering committee.

Laycock joined Incubeta in 2008 as Financial Controller and became Chief Financial Officer UK and US in 2017 overseeing all financial and business operations.

“Luke [Judge] has been instrumental to the success of Incubeta in the UK and the US. Not only has he been an outstanding leader and CEO, he is also an incredible colleague, friend and a truly amazing and humble person. Having worked side by side with Luke for many years, I have certainly learnt from the best and I am honoured the baton has been passed on to me,” commented Laycock.

“I want to ensure we carry forward the legacy of a strong people culture which has been built up over the years with a particular focus on creating an environment where people feel comfortable to be themselves at work. This is something I am absolutely passionate about. Over the past 13 years I have watched employees at Incubeta thrive and progress. I’m so proud of what we have all achieved together and I am excited to be at the helm to ensure this continues.”

Vodafone adds Swantee to board
Olaf Swantee will be appointed as a Non-executive Director following Vodafone Group’s annual general meeting on 27 July 2021, subject to shareholder approval. He will also become a member of Vodafone’s Audit & Risk Committee.

Swantee was CEO of Sunrise Communications between 2016 and 2020, transforming the company’s brand, network, and services to establish it as true challenger to Swisscom. Prior to that, he was CEO of EE, where he successfully merged Orange UK and T-Mobile under BT Group. He has also held senior positions at France Telecom (now Orange Group), Hewlett-Packard, Compaq Computer, and Digital Equipment.

“It is an honour to be invited to the Board of Vodafone, Europe and Africa’s leading telecommunications company,” Swantee commented. “I am greatly looking forward to working with Jean-Francois [van Boxmeer] and the board to support Nick [Read] and the executive team successfully drive forward the strategy.”

Rizwani hired to direct strategy at Tribal Health
Tribal Health, a division of DDB Worldwide’s Tribal Worldwide, has recruited Niaz Rizwani as its new Strategy Director. He will support Tribal Health’s clients across multiple activities notably – connecting a client’s commercial goals with interactive customer experiences, shaping data strategies and omnichannel planning, knowledge sharing, and delivering innovative approaches.

Rizwani joins from Publicis Health, where he was a Senior Strategist. Before that, he worked in strategy and innovation projects at DigitasLBi and Blue Latitude.

“This is a fascinating time to be involved in healthcare and I’m delighted to join Tribal Health as Strategy Director,” said Rizwani. “There is so much change in the world, and the way healthcare companies are digitally interacting with their customers is fundamentally and rapidly evolving. 4A’s welcomes new board members
Vita M. Harris, Kate MacNevin, and Megan Pagliuca have taken seats on the Board of Directors as Directors at Large at the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s).

Harris, Chief Strategy Officer at FCB Global, is dedicated to helping drive agency and client success, as well as cultivating new business opportunities.

MacNevin leads MRM as Global Chairwoman & CEO, where she has sought to reinvent how agencies serve their clients, employees, and communities.

Pagliuca, Chief Activation Officer for Omnicom Media Group North America, leverages the Omnicom network’s vast data resources to advance more customer-centric and data-driven investment strategies.

Senior ad industry players signed by Admix
In-game ad company Admix has appointed Nigel Morris to its Board and enlisted Rob Norman as a Senior Advisor.

Morris, who is already an Admix advisor and investor, will work closely with the leadership team. He was a central figure at Dentsu Aegis Network for over 25 years, founding Isobar and transforming the US Group. He is currently Chair of The Upside, on the Board at Gyana, and a Non-executive Director at Guardian Media Group.

“The video gaming domain will be the next big media channel following social media’s emergence some 15 years ago. In-Play is intrinsically engaging to audiences and brand safe for marketers at scale, and will become a key driver of sustainable growth strategies for brands,” said Morris. “The Admix team is very conscious of the whole ecosystem for consumers, brands and publishers, and we have developed a pioneering and agile platform that provides a great experience and performance for all.”

Norman will focus on the Americas, acting as an advisor to Admix’s US team. He was a long time CDO of WPP’s GroupM and additionally served as its North American CEO. He is also a Director at Simpli.fi, Director at Piano, and Non-executive Director at BBC Global News.

Remerge selects Eichmann as GM
Patrick Eichmann has been appointed General Manager of the Americas at mobile app retargeting company Remerge. Focusing on the US, Canada, and South America, he will head up strategy in region to build upon and drive the company’s growth in those markets.

Eichmann has been promoted from Vice President of Sales. Before Remerge, he was Director of Sales and New Business at Liftoff.

“App marketing is at a critical crossroads. At a time when Apple is ushering in changes to IDFA to empower user privacy, we are also seeing a surge in consumer demand for mobile gaming, shopping, food delivery and more. Remerge has been at the forefront of respecting privacy changes and building new products to allow apps to thrive in this new environment. I’m proud to be helping build Remerge into the leading mobile DSP in the Americas,” said Eichmann.

Gore promoted to CDO at Zeta
Zeta Global, a marketing tech company, has elevated Neej Gore to the position of Chief Data Officer. He will lead the Companys global data and analytics strategy, creating growth for brands by transforming data into actionable business insights, and continue the development of Zetas large identity graph, while driving further innovation within Zetas Opportunity Explorer.

Gore was previously Chief Business Officer at Boomtrain, which was acquired by Zeta four years ago. More recently, he was President of the Data Cloud division at Zeta.

“I am thrilled to continue advancing Zetas Data Cloud, which we have proudly grown to be one of the largest proprietary consumer data assets in the world,” said Gore. “Data literacy and insights have become essential for every enterprise business to connect with consumers at an individual level, and to do that successfully, they must have strong identity and intent based data solutions. Sightly turns to Papp as CTO
Stefan Papp has been hired by Sightly, a media services and tech company, as its Chief Technology Officer. He will growth of the company’s technology and its Brand Mentality solution.

Papp joins Sightly after serving as the Senior Vice president for Deloitte Digital. Previously, he was the CTO at Blab. He also held leadership positions at technology companies including AdReady, Intelligent Effects, and Solutions IQ.

“In todays turbulent world where information and events happen at an unprecedented pace, Sightlys technology is fundamentally transforming the way that marketers react and plan,” said Papp. “Our Brand Mentality methodology taps into the fire-hose of public discourse, leveraging advanced technologies, to provide brands with the unique and extremely necessary capability to act on real-time insights at speed, while trends still resonate.”

Four countries get new leadership at Lycamobile
Mobile virtual network operator Lycamobile has appointed new country managers in Australia, France, Russia, and Romania.

Brendan Feeney takes up leadership in Australia. Boasting over 20 years’ experience in the telecom sector, he previously created brand awareness and converted momentum into customer growth at Optus.

Mikis de Bonneval takes up the France gig. In his more recent position at Lebara France, he oversaw a significant organisational reshuffle leading the firm back into profitability.

Mikhail Alilekov is now Russia Country Manager at Lycamobile after over 15 years working for telecoms firm including VimpelCom and MTT.

Finally, Mihai Nica will lead the Romania business. Over the past 10 years, he has worked at telecom companies including Vodafone and Telekom Romania.

“We’re very pleased to welcome such an experienced group of country managers to the Lycamobile family,” said Navanit Narayan, Group Chief Operating Officer at Lycamobile. “Each of them brings the depth of experience needed to boost our growth at a national level. Bounteous hires Wang to lead strategy
Oscar Wang has joined digital experience consultancy Bounteous as Senior Vice President of Strategy & Insights. She will lead a multi-faceted team to create insights-centric strategies that drive transformative digital experiences.

Wang joins Bounteous with 15 years of experience at Prophet. She was a founding member and a key driving force of Prophet’s global strategic consumer insight & analytics practice, leading client engagements, hiring and developing talent, cultivating culture, and creating and evolving intellectual property critical to Prophets overall human insights-driven integrated branding, marketing, and innovation offerings.

“We live in a time where the old business books are being re-written in front of our eyes. Companies big and small are moving with a heightened sense of urgency to adapt,” said Wang. “In this context, I believe there is no disruptive growth without disruptive insights. Bell and Nicholls join Momentum exec team
Growth consultancy Momentum has appointed Robert Bell as Group Chief Financial Officer and Will Nicholls as UK Managing Director.

Bell, whose appointment follows his sale of private equity-backed company Cawood Scientific, has a track record of leading organisations through periods of high growth and international expansion and will guide the group’s M&A strategy – with a particular focus on North America.

“I am excited to be joining the team at Momentum during such a significant time in the company’s development and growth and look forward to leveraging my experience as we drive the business forward,” said Bell.

Nicholls becomes MD after a year with the company – having previously held positions as MD at Alpha Century and Managing Partner at both BBH and Saatchi & Saatchi – and will drive business strategy and operations, with a focus on developing Momentum’s consulting capabilities and client base in EMEA.

“It’s an honour to take on the role of MD and I’m excited to lead the continued success of the business here in the European market,” said Nicholls. “During my time in the business I’ve seen huge demand from clients to solve their biggest challenge – how to bring teams together to drive growth.

Momentum has also bolstered its regional management teams with the appointments of James Mollard as Business Development Director and Jacqueline Gummer as Consulting Director.

Alight hires Carreau to head up direct sales
Jacqui Carreau has been appointed Head of Direct Sales at out-of-home media owner Alight Media. Reporting to Chief Revenue Officer Ged Glover, she will lead Alight’s growing direct sales team positioned across the UK.

Carreau previously spent nearly eight years at Clear Channel, holding roles such as Head of South and Area Sales Manager for the South West. Prior to that, she spent almost 12 years at Newsquest, focused on Somerset and Devon.

“Alight Media has really impressed me, both in terms of growth and ambition, but also in the way the team runs the business,” said Carreau. “I’m over the moon to join a company with a clear mission to make out-of-home work harder for advertisers of all shapes and sizes, with a real focus on supporting SMEs build back better. I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Hilton selects Nestor to lead APAC marketing
Julie Nestor has been named as vice president of marketing & eCommerce in Asia Pacific at Hilton. In her role, she will drive the marketing and eCommerce strategy for the region, enticing new customers to Hilton’s portfolio of brands and driving growth in direct bookings.

Nestor was most recently at eBay as chief marketing officer for Australia, where she was responsible for retaining eBay’s position as the top online marketplace in the country and launching eBay’s first paid membership program — eBay Plus. Prior to eBay, she spent more than a decade at American Express, where she was responsible for launching the first Apple Pay service in Australia, establishing loyalty programs with leading airline companies and upmarket retail brands, and developing tailor-made experience programs for cardmembers.

“With a large portfolio of award-winning brands, Hilton is on a huge growth trajectory with so much potential in the region. I am proud to be part of a team that strives to bring to life the outstanding experiences and spirit of the Hilton brand to our guests,” said Nestor. “As we look towards 2020, I will be focused on driving demand for our properties and working with the team to position Hilton as the hotel of choice, especially in our key destinations.”

Spicer takes up strategy role at Leo Burnett
Leo Burnett Chicago has elevated Aki Spicer to the role of chief strategy officer. Previously executive vice president and global strategy lead, he will work closely with recently appointed chief creative officer Jordan to elevate the agencys ability to deliver platform ideas, work across teams to help articulate the marriage of strategy and data, and strengthen the integration of creative disciplines within the departments offering.

Spicer joined Leo Burnett in October 2018 to lead global strategy for Samsung, since then taking on responsibility for additional clients including Facebook Messenger. Prior to joining the agency, he served as chief strategy officer at TBWA/Chiat/Day New York, where he worked on brands like Nissan, McDonalds and Hilton, and helped productise that agencys offerings through new processes and methodologies.

“Leo Burnett is a storied brand with an incredible legacy of creative innovation, paving the way for modern disciplines like media and content strategy, experience design and the idea of building populist brands through cultural relevancy,” Spicer said. “Where better than Leo Burnett to reprise that for this modern era? Nielsen brings in Sims-Williams on diversity
Beginning January 2020, Sandra Sims-Williams will join Nielsen as senior vice president of diversity & inclusion (D&I). Reporting to chief executive officer David Kenny, she will lead Nielsens D&I strategy and teams for both the Media and Connect sides of the business, through Nielsens transition into two independent, publicly traded companies.

Prior to joining Nielsen, Sims-Williams led diversity and inclusion efforts at Publicis Groupe as chief diversity officer. She is also a member of The Advertising Industrys Diversity Steering Committee and serves on the boards of New York Women in Communication, Advertising Club of New York and ColorComm.

“I am proud to be joining the Nielsen team and continuing to leverage diversity and inclusion as key elements for growth and leadership,” said Sims-Williams. “I look forward to working with and supporting Nielsens talented teams as we enter the next chapter of the companys transformation into two independent, publicly-traded companies.”

Ismert to preside over WT Mobile
WPP agency Wunderman Thompson has promoted Ted Ismert to the role of president of Wunderman Thompson Mobile. Based in New York, Ismert will oversee Wunderman Thompson Mobile’s business as it fits within the broader Wunderman Thompson portfolio of services and primarily be focused on leading teams to deliver best in class work for brands.

Ismert previously served as vice president of account, where he oversaw Wunderman Thompson Mobile’s client engagement teams and all key accounts. In his over 15 years of experience in mobile, technology, and digital strategy, he has also held various leadership roles at Code Worldwide, MCD, and Euro RSCG.

“I’m proud of our mobile team for their commitment to innovation and quality, and it’s truly an unbelievable opportunity to take Wunderman Thompson Mobile to the next level,” said Ted Ismert, President, Wunderman Thompson Mobile. “Wunderman Thompson is a unique agency focused on creativity, data, and technology – and I couldn’t be more thrilled to integrate our mobile capabilities and deliver innovative product experiences for ambitious brands.”

Zenith makes host of promotions
Sannah Rogers, Jon Stevens, Richard Kirk, and Matt Skelding have all been handed new roles at Zenith UK. Rogers becomes managing director of agency operations, Stevens managing director of client service, Kirk chief strategy officer, and Skelding managing partner, head of planning.

In addition to these changes, Matthew Bushby has been hired from Mediacom. Reporting to Zenith’s head of investment David Mulrenan, he takes up the role of head of programmatic.

“Jon and Sannah are both ex-new business leads so they know what it takes to win; this is the reason we have been so successful in pitching this year,” said Natalie Cummins, chief executive officer at Zenith UK. “With Rich Kirk, Matt and Sam bringing the media craft chops and Dave and Thiago experts in activation, I feel like we have a brilliant combination of talent at the top to make sure we keep delivering for our clients and continue winning in 2020.”

Dahm joins Yext as Europe SVP
Yext, a search experience cloud company, has hired Tobias Dahm as senior vice president of Central Europe, where hell manage all customer-facing operations for the region.

Dahm brings 25 years of experience in the tech industry, with his most recent role at Salesforce, as an area vice president for the enterprise business within Germany. Prior to that, he held a number of sales and management positions at Microsoft, Symantec, Compuware, and others.

“The opportunity ahead for Yext is tremendous,” said Dahm. “Yext is poised to change the way businesses connect with their customers online, empowering them to take back control of the customer journey by putting their truth online. Im thrilled to be a part of it.”

Globant adds Kaplun as regional MD
Nicolás Pablo Kaplun has been chosen to be regional managing director of Latin America at Globant, a digitally-native technology services company. Reporting to chief executive officer and co-founder Martin Migoya, Kaplun will run and oversee all aspects of the Latin America operation, including the business development strategy, team building and management and overall client relationship.

Kaplun joins from Accenture, where he served as managing director in the financial services division, leading sales for the Hispanic South America region. Prior to that, he held executive roles at Citibank, Zurich, Telefonica, and Korn/Ferry International.

“I was always impressed by Globants ability to develop long-term partnerships with traditional and digitally native global clients for their transformation processes. I really admire how they deliver high impact in their results,” commented Kaplun.  “I am very excited to join such a team of bright, energetic and talented people and work together in helping our customers rethink their businesses.”

Campagna named Balbix CMO
AI-powered cybersecurity platform Balbix has hired Rich Campagna as chief marketing officer, a role he steps into following a seven-year stint at Bitglass.

At Bitglass, Campagna served as chief marketing officer, helping to launch the company out of stealth in 2013. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles in product management at F5 Networks and Juniper Networks.

Oracle gives Sikka board seat
Vishal Sikka has been given a place on Oracle’s board of directors. He is the chief executive officer (and founder) of recently founded AI company Vianai Systems.

Before starting Vianai, he held a top executive role at SAP and, most recently, was chief executive officer and managing director at Infosys.

Three new VPs at Qubit
Qubit, a marketing personalisation technology firm, has expanded its senior management team with the appointments of Tracey Ryan O’Connor as vice president of North America, Julia Fearn as vice president of customer success, and Robin Trickett as vice president of strategy.

O’Connor, who will be responsible for business operations in Norther America, was previously responsible for a portfolio of strategic accounts at ATG (now Oracle Commerce), Reflektion, SmarterHQ, and, most recently, Salesforce.

Fearn will lead Qubit’s customer team worldwide. She spent more than eight years at Digital River, where she was responsible for customer success across a number of accounts.

Trickett has been promoted from the role of global operations director, having already spent five years at Qubit. He will work with the leadership team on GTM, multi-year planning, and strategic initiatives. Prior to Qubit, he was a senior consultant with Roland Berger.

MiQ hands Madorsky Northeast MD gig
Erin Madorsky has been selected as managing director of the Northeast at marketing intelligence firm MiQ. She will work directly with US chief executive officer Sean Reardon to develop and grow business across the Northeast region, cultivate and strengthen relationships with key brands and media agencies, and further strengthen the company’s position as a marketing intelligence and programmatic solutions provider.

Madorsky previously served as chief revenue officer at Verve and, earlier, was senior vice presien of sales at Viant.

Portelli takes place on Metadata board
Metadata.io, an AI-powered marketing operations platform, has added Bill Portelli to its board of directors.

Portelli previously served as chief executive officer, co-founder, and chairman at CollabNet. In addition to Metadata, he holds board roles at CollabNet, Convercent, Workspot and Parsable.

SMP brings in Kidd and Mellinger
Jason Kidd and Glen Mellinger have been appointed as client partners at SMP, a shopper marketing specialist. The pair will work in the Dublin and San Francisco offices respectively.

Reporting to managing director Peter Martin, Kidd and Mellinger will support SMP’s international growth plans and assist the agency’s existing clients across EMEA and North America.

Kidd joins SMP from Live & Breathe, where he was managing partner, while Mellinger previously served in marketing management roles at Dolby and Logitech.

Day joins Black Swan
Data science technology company Black Swan Data has hired media industry expert Rupert Day. He will be responsible for applying the firm’s social prediction technology to new use-cases and sectors within the retail, content, and advertising industries.

Day launched WPP’s TenthAvenue in January 2011, continuing as its global chief executive officer until April 2018. Before that, he was global chief operating officer of WPP’s GroupM media operations. Day was also part of the original management team that launched Mindshare globally, following more than a decade in senior financial roles for WPP subsidiaries.

“Were excited about the opportunities and experience Rupert brings with him as we enter the next phase of our journey,” said Hugo Amos, co-founder and chief strategy officer at Black Swan Data. “We have already established our pedigree and demonstrated the impact of our technology across CPG, retail and aviation sectors, with Ruperts expertise, well be looking at diversifying across new sectors and markets. FreeWheel turns to Whitticom to lead on product
Jon Whitticom has been appointed chief product officer at Comcast’s FreeWheel. Reporting to general manager Dave Clark, he will oversee and define product vision, strategy, design and development and will lead FreeWheel’s global product team.

Whitticom joins FreeWheel from WPP’s GroupM, where he was most recently executive vice president of products for [m]Platform. In that role, he led product teams responsible for developing data management and marketing planning and trading platforms, in addition to creating partnerships with tech companies, to drive growth for GroupM and its clients.

Prior to GroupM, he was at another WPP firm in the shape of Xaxis. As vice president of global product development, he was responsible for driving Xaxis’s global data management strategy and leading the creation of its DMP and analytics platforms. Whitticom has also launched several startups including digital marketing and eCommerce platform Charity Folks.

“FreeWheel’s track record of removing friction from the video marketplace and empowering publishers to better monetise content while also helping advertisers to more effectively engage consumers puts it in a unique position to address the industry’s needs,” Whitticom said. “I’m excited to work with Dave and the FreeWheel team to address advertisers’ demand for access to premium video and more sophisticated, data-driven TV activation capabilities.”

Pogue and Lenois join VaynerMedia executive team
VaynerMedia has hired Wanda Pogue as chief strategy officer and Rob Lenois as chief creative officer. Both will report to chief executive officer and co-founder Gary Vaynerchuk.

Pogue will oversee strategy across the agency’s global offices in New York, Los Angeles, London and Singapore. She was most recently chief strategy officer at Saatchi & Saatchi New York, where she was instrumental in leading work across the agency’s roster of clients, including Walmart, Procter & Gamble and USAA. Prior to that, she led the strategic vision for brands such as Olay, Tide/Ariel, Head & Shoulders and Trident as global strategy director.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining VaynerMedia,” commented Pogue. “I love their energy, their culture, but above all, I believe and share their ambition to redefine the industry and create a new model that’s not rooted in old paradigms, opinions and vagueness. It’s super exciting to be a part of that.”

Lenois will oversee the agency’s global creative product. He arrives from his role as deputy chief creative officer at Grey New York, which saw him create work for clients such as Volvo, Febreze, Hasbro, and Darden Restaurants. He has also worked at Saatchi & Saatchi New York and BBDO New York.

“My first encounter with VaynerMedia was through Gary’s social content. I connected with his idea of putting people first,” said Lenois. “But once I got to the agency and met with Gary and the team in person, I saw that ‘people-first’ isnt just some marketing jumbo but is very real in the culture. I was also struck by the energy and the tenacity of the agency. Everywhere I turned, people were making and doing: filming, editing, animating and podcasting. In an industry where some of the best ideas don’t make it past a PDF, I was hooked by the culture of ‘make and share’. VaynerMedia is changing the game. Sublime makes executive changes
Andrew Buckman has been promoted to chief executive officer, while Marc Rouanet has transitioned to chief revenue officer, at advertising marketplace Sublime.

Buckman joined Sublime as managing director EMEA in 2017 before being handed his previous role of chief operating officer earlier this year. He has been integral in developing strategic partnerships with brands and publishers, as well as driving company growth. AS CEO, he will manage day-to-day operations and focus on developing clear goals and strategies to further increase the company’s footprint.

“It has been a great year for Sublime and we’re excited to see what’s to come as we approach 2020,” said Buckman. “We pride ourselves in offering engaging ad units that don’t intrude on the user experience and I look forward to continuing to promote these solutions, and further build on Sublime’s success to become the leading digital branding platform.”

Rouanet co-founded Sublime in 2012 and, in his new role, will be responsible for driving new business sales and partner strategy. In addition, he will continue to sit on the board of directors where he will play a vital role in the future of the company.

“I am thrilled with the success Sublime has achieved,” said Rouanet. “High-impact, non-intrusive ad formats are the core of Sublime and I look forward to continuing to promote adoption. Andrew has been and will continue to be invaluable to Sublime – his hard work and determination has strengthened Sublime’s impact in the marketplace and will continue to drive the company forward.”

Clarken named Criteo chief
Advertising platform Criteo has appointed Megan Clarken as its chief executive officer, effective 25 November.

Replacing founding chairman and CEO JB Rudelle, who has decided to split his two roles, Clarken arrives on the back of 15 years in various positions at Nielsen. Most recently, she was chief commercial officer of Nielsen Global Media. Rudelle will remain as chairman.

“This is a very exciting time for me to join Criteo,” said Clarken. “Criteo has grown into a truly impressive company, with high-quality assets and talented teams, and Im very honored to lead the company into the next chapter of its development.”

Blippar gets a new boss
Faisal Galaria has been chosen as chief executive officer at Blippar, an augmented reality (AR) technology company. Working closely with founder Ambarish Mitra and chief technology officer Preet Prasannan, he will be responsible for driving Blippar’s commercial growth and development as the company continues to expand its proprietary AR creation and publishing platform post administration.

Galaria joins from his role as chief strategy & investments officer at GoCompare, where he helped lead its IPO on the London Stock Exchange and managed several acquisitions. Before that, he was a senior partner at Alvarez & Marsal and was once senior vice president at Spotify, where he launched the music streaming service in seven countries. Galaria has also held roles at Kayak, Skype, and Ofcom, while he is currently a non-executive director at Superdry.

“Blippar has an amazing provenance in the AR space and is in a strong position post administration with an exceptional team and strong relationships with clients,” said Galaria. “I am delighted to join Ambarish and the team at this important time. We will put our eight years’ experience of creativity, technology and partnerships to work in order to deliver results for our clients and position Blippar for growth.”

Beames chosen as UK GM at Adsquare
Adsquare, a mobile data exchange, has turned to Andy Beames as its UK general manager. Reporting to vice president of sales David Fieldhouse, he will take full ownership of the UK market, focusing on media agencies, trading desks and OOH companies to level up their programmatic buys by leveraging Adsquare’s data marketplace.

Prior to joining Adsquare, Andy was commercial director as well as global data solutions director at Blis, where he was responsible for helping advertisers, media owners and technology companies enhance their location-based advertising strategies.

“Adsquare is in an exciting phase of growth and Andy Beames is the right person to lead us forward in the UK,” said Fieldhouse. “He has exceptional experience in the digital media and location space and we are thrilled he’s joined us as UK general manager.”

MediaCom selects Trenouth as influencer marketing head
Emily Trenouth has been hired as head of influencer marketing strategy at MediaCom. She will lead the influencer marketing offering within MediaCom Beyond Advertising, working across both the UK and worldwide businesses and their clients, including Coca-Cola, Sony PlayStation, Sony Mobile, NBCUniversal, Bose, Direct Line Group, DFS, Tesco, LVMH, and more.

Trenouth takes up the role at MediaCom after two years at Tribe, where she joined as a part of the founding team in 2017 before spearheading the company’s US launch this year. Before Tribe, she worked at Takumi.

“I’m incredibly passionate about this space and so thrilled to be taking my experience from influencer marketing & on-demand content to the UK’s largest media agency at such an exciting time within the category,” said Trenouth. “Clients are rapidly allocating more budget towards influencer campaigns, yet ROI is still raising question marks. Chandler and Ferreira become Adjust’s latest senior appointments
Mobile measurement and fraud prevention firm Adjust has acquired the services of Andy Chandler as UK & Ireland general manager and Isabel Ferreira as sales director.

Chandler will focus on scaling Adjust’s operations and growing the team in the UK and Ireland. Boasting over 17 years of ad tech experience, he joins the company from Tapjoy, where he led the development of its programmatic offering as EMEA vice president. He has previously worked at Amazon, Microsoft, and Telegraph Media Group.

“Adjust has helped shape the industry as we know it, bringing topics including privacy and transparency front of mind for mobile marketers,” said Chandler. “The company has developed into one of the European tech scene’s biggest success stories, and I’m looking forward to leading its growth across the UK and Ireland.”

Ferreira will be responsible for expanding the company’s client base in the UK and Ireland. She has almost 10 years’ experience in app marketing and arrives from Appsumer, where she was responsible for developing its footprint in EMEA. She has also worked at MobFox and Supersonic.

Christian Henschel, co-founder and CEO at Adjust, said: “Since launching Adjust in the UK in 2013, we’ve gone from strength to strength – and we now work with some of the region’s most exciting brands. Leo Burnett hands new role to Marcus
Matt Marcus has been appointed to the newly created role of chief experience officer at Leo Burnett North America. Reporting to Leo Burnett Worldwide chief creative officer Liz Taylor, he will be responsible for overseeing multi-channel customer experience strategies that deliver growth for Leo Burnett and its clients.

Marcus has founded two companies and held executive roles at both multinational corporations and startups. Most recently at R/G, he co-founded and ran the artificial intelligence practice and developed the methodology for training global teams. he also oversaw teams for experience design, visual design, brand design and systematic campaign creation.

“This is an amazing opportunity to help one of the most renowned agencies in the world tell its stories through new technologies, in non-linear ways,” said Marcus. “Im so excited that Ill get to partner with Leos talented leaders to bring forward creative solutions that grow brands and build business.”

Livek picked to lead Comscore
Comscore’s board of directors has chosen Bill Livek to be its chief executive officer and executive vice chairman. Having been at the company since 2016, he has also served as executive vice chairman & president as well as principle executive officer.

Before joining Comscore, Livek served as vice chairman & CEO at Rentrak. He has previously served as co-president of Experian Research Services, co-chair/co-owner of Simmons Market Research Bureau, co-founder of Transactional Data Solutions, vice president of sales/marketing for Arbitron and was a principal shareholder in Birch Research, which was later integrated into Scarborough Research, where he served as president and CEO.

“I would like to thank Dale [Fuller] for his guidance and leadership throughout this transition,” said Livek. “I am excited about the prospects that lie ahead for Comscore and the opportunities we continue to believe are ripe for disruption. I look forward to capitalizing on these opportunities and creating meaningful value for our stakeholders.”

Takumi adds new exec, bolster board
Carla Faria has been appointed chief revenue officer at influencer marketing service Takumi, with Mary Keane-Dawson, Sarah Speake, and Rob Forshaw becoming non-executive directors.

Faria will be responsible for driving Takumi’s revenue strategy globally, and will be tasked with establishing new revenue streams to maintain the company’s position as a leading Instagram influencer marketing service.

Keane-Dawson has held C-suite roles at WPP, Steak, Reform, and Collective. She co-founded MyHealthPal and How She Made It, and also sits on the board of London Tech Advocates and the advisory board for the Internet Commission, while being a global ambassador for the British Interactive Media Association.

Speake is a former global chief marketing officer and international sales director with 25 years of media and marketing experience from companies including Google, ITV, and Clear Channel.

Forshaw started his career working for Saatchi & Saatchi, M&C Saatchi, and Wieden+Kennedy, and, subsequently, co-founded Grand Union, which was acquired by FullSix in 2010. He is a board advisor to a number of businesses in the UK and USA.

“We have bolstered our board with some exceptionally talented and experienced professionals who will support the business through continued growth,” said Adam Williams, Takumi CEO. “We will remain committed to developing smart anti-fraud technology and championing collaborative relationships between brands and Instagram creators.”

Magee to direct on data at Syzygy
Syzygy, a digital agency, has opted for Anthony Magee as its director of data & experience technology. Reporting to Syzygy’s UK chief executive officer Ita Murphy, he will lead the agency’s data-led approach to client planning and service, developing its overarching Digital Architects proposition.

Magee was managing partner at digital IQ and has worked with organisations and brands including Mazda, Virgin Experience Days, Xero, Lego, BT, Argos, and Sainsbury’s.

“I couldn’t have found a better home than Syzygy to indulge my obsession with leveraging data science for better customer experiences. Metadata.io names LAbbé as president
Olivier LAbbé has taken up the role of president at AI-powered marketing operations platform Metadata.io. He will lead go-to-market strategy, customer success and business development.

Boasting more than 15 years of experience in strategic sales growth, LAbbé was senior vice president of sales at G2 Crowd. He also served as director of sales at Fliptop, which was acquired by LinkedIn.

“At G2 crowd, I saw numerous customers operationalise their data with Metadata,” said LAbbé. “In fact, G2 Crowd’s marketing team itself uses Metadata with great success. SAP names Morgan and Klein as co-bosses
Jennifer Morgan and Christian Klein have been appointed co-chief executive officers at SAP, following Bill McDermott’s decision to step down from his position as CEO.

Morgan, who joined SAP in 2004, most recently served as president of the Cloud Business Group, overseeing Qualtrics, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, SAP Customer Experience and SAP Concur. She was named an executive board member in 2017.

“I could not be more grateful to Hasso Plattner and the supervisory board for placing their trust in me and Christian to lead this next chapter for SAP,” said Morgan. “We accept the challenge with a high degree of humility, but also with a sincere belief that the best is yet to come for SAP. We have the finest, most talented colleagues in the world who give us so much confidence in the road ahead. Bill McDermott has been not only a tremendous leader, but a mentor and a role model for so many of us. In Bill, we stand on the shoulders of a giant and look forward to building on his legacy of success.”

Klein, who started his career at SAP two decades ago as a student, most recently served as the company’s chief operating officer, also overseeing product development for the flagship ERP solution SAP S/4HANA. Previously, he worked as SAP SuccessFactors chief financial officer and as SAP chief controlling officer. Klein was appointed to the executive board in 2018.

“As someone who began my career in the halls of SAP, this is the highest honour I can imagine to become co-CEO together with Jennifer. Hasso Plattner has given us a tremendous opportunity and we are truly thankful to him and the supervisory board,” said Klein. “SAP has the most comprehensive solution portfolio in the industry. We have an unprecedented opportunity to finish what we started and deliver the intelligent enterprise. This will be the best way to honor our predecessor, Bill McDermott. We will always strive to be leaders who bring out the best in people like Bill has always done.”

McDermott will remain in an advisory capacity until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

Tessier takes brand lead at MoPub
MoPub, a Twitter-owned mobile exchange, has hired Vincent Tessier as its brand and agency lead EMEA. He brings more than 12 years of experience into his new position from a variety of roles at Universal Music, AOL, Trademob and LaPlaceMedia.

Most recently, Tessier was the general manager EMEA at Adsquare, where he has successfully scaled and transformed the startup into a European market leader in the audience and footfall measurement category, across nine markets and four local offices.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining MoPub at Twitter and look forward to working closely with our brand and agency partners,” said Tessier. “Mobile has been ubiquitous in our lives for some years but only now is its true potential as a media channel being unlocked. I look forward working closely with our brand partners to help them reach their customers programmatically via MoPub, offering access to 45,000 apps and 1.45bn mobile devices globally.”

Leo Burnett selects Avener as MD
Carly Avener has joined Leo Burnett London as managing director. Reporting to chief executive officer Charlie Rudd, she will be in care of the day-to-day running and operations of the agency, working with existing clients including Iceland, McDonald’s, Betfair, and Gulf Oil.

Before joining Leo Burnett London, Avener was at BBH, where she launched and ran the agencys social media specialism and brand experience output working with clients such as Next, Burberry, Mentos, Burger King and Samsung. In 2018, she led Burger King’s brand repositioning and relaunched The Whopper. She also developed the AR immersive experience called Doorways for Samsung in partnership with Family Guy.

Prior to BBH, she worked at McCann Erickson on the Microsoft, American Airlines, and Co-op accounts.

“It’s a really exciting time to be at Leo Burnett right now and I’ve seen the agency go from strength to strength. Their iconic work is famous across the UK and I can’t wait to get started,” commented Avener.

Gold promoted to director of social at Grey
Grey, the advertising network of WPP-owned Grey Group, has elevated Kenny Gold to senior vice president, director of social media for Grey North America. Working with Grey offices in Los Angeles, Toronto, and Montreal, he will build the agencys talent and capabilities, enhance partnerships with social platforms, and ensure social is an integral part of new business development.

Gold has served as SVP, director of social media for Grey New York for the past 15 months. During his tenure, Gold has played an integral role operationally, strategically and creatively developing content and the innovative use of social media for the agency and its clients. Grey New York has doubled its social media team under his leadership.

Telaria adds Antoniou to direct on publisher accounts
Jenny Antoniou has taken the role of publisher account director, ad operations at video management platform Telaria. Reporting to vice president EMEA Bill Swanson, and based out of Telaria’s London office, she is responsible for the growth of Telaria’s EMEA publisher and broadcaster business.

Antoniou was previously head of campaign management at Dennis Publishing. She led teams through large-scale change covering all aspects of digital media operations, programmatic, content-led partnerships and B2B lead generation. As co-chair of the AOP’s Ad Ops Steering Group, Antoniou has also led and rolled out industry-wide publisher initiatives.

“Telaria has built a leading position in connected TV and premium video globally across the US and APAC regions,” said Antoniou. “As the video advertising landscape evolves and grows at a rapid pace in EMEA, I’m excited to build on thebe part of the company’s success journey by leveraging its technology to unlock more programmatic video opportunities for publishers and brands in EMEA.”

Blakeway to lead programmatic at Journey Further
Performance marketing agency Journey Further has handed Ed Blakeway the role of head of programmatic & paid social at the company’s new Manchester office, which he will head up. He has joined to enhance the agency’s display and social offerings as clients demand greater transparency, stronger creative direction, and an integrated approach across paid and organic activity.

Blakeway was previously associate director at iProspect and, before that, head of programmatic at Search Laboratory.

“I am really excited to be joining the Journey Further team and establishing the agency in Manchester,” said Blakeway. “It is rare to find an agency that has such a strong proposition – Clarity at Speed – and a set of values that has created a unique and empowering culture. Tealium welcomes Bullock to lead marketing
Heidi Bullock has joined Tealium, a customer data orchestration firm, as chief marketing officer, arriving from the same role at Engagio.

At Engagio, Bullock was responsible for the go-to-market strategy, product marketing, internal sales, corporate communications, and helping create the ABM automation category. Before that, she was group vice president of global marketing at Marketo, where she built out the award-winning demand generation function globally that helped lead to a successful IPO and, later, an acquisition.

“As a marketer, it is my job to provide customers with meaningful experiences and that requires leveraging the right types of data, responsibly, when it matters most. Tealium is appealing because it solves this issue regardless of the type of data or source,” said Bullock. “Im proud to be joining an innovative team that pioneered the customer data solution space. Balekjian and Cura join Badi senior team
Badi, an AI-driven room rental marketplace, has hired Glenda Balekjian as vice president of product and Ezequiel Cura as vice president of engineering.

Balekjian leaves her leadership role within Booking.com’s core marketplace product development team, which saw her lead data science based initiatives to match guests with the right accommodation, post booking automation services, and refining messaging based solutions which connected customer service, hosts and travellers across 42 languages. She will now use her experience to further Badi’s strategic drive to improve its user-centred product offering. 

“I’m looking forward to leading our product efforts at Badi, a young fast-growing organisation with huge potential,” commented Balekjian. “I’m inspired by Badi’s vision to create solutions that make our world better through the power of technology. Cura joins from Google where he worked in Photos, Research, Google Pay, and SumUX.

Mapp opts for Alberti to lead global sales
Maurizio Alberti has been promoted to the role of vice president of global sales at cloud-based digital marketing provider Mapp. He will oversee the development of Mapps annual sales plan and define the corresponding sales policies and practices. In addition, Alberti will lead the company’s global direct and channel sales strategies and expand the international sales team, providing optimal operational support for Mapps overall business objectives.

Alberti boasts more than 15 years of digital marketing industry experience, starting his career as an account manager at eCircle before being appointed managing director for Italy in 2010. From 2013, he held the position of managing director for Italy at Teradata, where his responsibilities included launching the integrated marketing applications solution in Italy. Teradata would then evolve into Mapp in 2016.

“Following my role as Managing Director Europe, I am delighted to now apply my knowledge to Mapps global business,” said Alberti. “As our company continues to grow, consistent, effective sales operations are essential to further expand our customer base and achieve our defined business objectives. We still have a great deal of potential in cross-channel marketing.”

Lewis to head up finance at Clicky
Digital marketing agency Clicky has appointed Jane Lewis as head of finance, bringing her wealth of corporate experience to the growing agency.

Lewis joins from a vice president role at ConvaTec Group, where she was instrumental in floating the $1.7bn business on the London Stock Exchange in 2016.

“I was impressed with both the energy at the office and the ethical values at Clicky that stem from the leadership,” commented Lewis. “I have the opportunity to help this dynamic company grow and flourish, and I’m looking forward to seeing where the journey takes us.”

Vungle promotes Bondy to COO
Jeremy Bondy has been handed the newly created role of chief operating officer at Vungle, a performance marketing platform for in-app video ads on mobile devices. The promotion coincides with Blackstone’s completed acquisition of the company.

Bondy, who has been at Vungle since 2014, will continue to oversee global revenue and Vungle Creative Labs, while ensuring operational excellence across the business.

“Jeremy is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers results,” said Vungle chief executive officer Rick Tallman. “Jeremy’s sales and operational leadership have been instrumental to our rapid, profitable growth over the past five years. Wray and Graham take places on Tonik+ executive team
Tonik+, a video intelligence and editing solution, has named Lauren Wray as chief revenue officer and Chris Graham as chief product officer and general manager.

Wray will oversee key sales and marketing initiatives for company including strategy development, account management, pricing, forecasting, resource planning and budgeting. Prior to joining Tonik+, she led media and content domain sales, growth and strategy at Kantar. Before that, she directed the national sales team and played an essential role in the extensive growth of the business at Sharethrough. She started her career at Forbes Media.

Channel Factory makes senior hires across Europe.
Idan Shuklin, Kasper Jensen, Ajay Daved, Mark Butt, and Juliet McCutcheon have all joined YouTube content alignment firm Channel Factory in various capacities across Europe.

Shuklin arrives as business development partner, EU/CEE. Bringing over 20 years of experience across eCommerce, software product and brand development, he was most recently eCommerce director for Europe at Chubb Limited. He will be tasked with creating and launching Channel Factory’s Central and Eastern European operations.

Jensen joins as sales manager for Denmark, bringing 15 years of digital media and management experience. He will be responsible for developing and activating a road map of clients for Channel Factory in the Danish market. Most recently, he was head of sales at Smartclip.

Daved, boasting 16 years of digital experience, will manage strategic partnerships across EMEA. He previously worked for DoubleClick and Google, and has held leadership roles at PowerLinks, Tremor, RhythmOne, and AppNexus.

Butt will work as strategic business development consultant in the UK, having a remit to develop partnerships with key agencies and brands. With more than 20 years’ experience in commercial strategy, mergers & acquisitions, media buying, programmatic technology and ad operations, he was managing director of Eyeconomy before launching Seventures Lab.

Last but by no means least, McCutcheon takes on the role of key accounts manager in the UK. Joining from her role as sales manager at Amobee EMEA, she will be working closely with the UK agencies, driving awareness of Channel Factory’s solution, and developing the UK roadmap.

Three leadership changes at Starmind
AI SaaS company Starmind has appointed Stefan Gass as chief marketing officer & head of growth and Eric Storm as vice president of sales, Americas, while promoting Adrian Schlund as chief revenue officer.

Gass will lead all marketing, inside sales, customer success and community functions. He will focus on Starmind`s accelerated go to market, product-led growth and global scaling strategies. He brings over two decades of experience leading high-growth teams at venture-backed SaaS companies like Veeam and scaling teams into new markets at BCG, Microsoft and Oracle.

“Starmind is paving the way in defining a new category, which is a natural evolution in the future of work as every large corporation today is going through fundamental shifts in their workforce,” said Gass. “Our neural networks are helping enterprises harness human intelligence to unlock productivity and competitive advantages while facilitating knowledge-sharing and growth. Tag brings in Vidler as Europe boss
Andria Vidler has been hired as EMEA chief executive officer by Tag, a creative production and sourcing partner to brands and agencies. Reporting to global CEO David Kassler, she will officially start her new role in January 2020.

Vidler has spent the past six years as CEO of Centaur Media PLC, which she transformed into a business intelligence, data and event group primarily focused on the marketing sector. She was responsible for setting strategy, driving financial performance, overseeing operational improvement and delivering cultural change.

Before Centaur, Vidler spent four years as CEO for EMI Music UK & Ireland and has held senior roles at Magic Radio-Emap, Bauer Media and at the BBC. She is also a trustee for Media Trust and a non-executive for Gamesys PLC.

Barclay and Wagner arrive at Synup
Synup, an intent marketing cloud, has selected Margie Barclay as senior vice president of client services and Brett Wagner as vice president of enterprise sales.

A 22-year veteran of the technology space, Barclay served as vice president of sales and customer experience at Contently before joining Synup. She also served in senior leadership roles at TapClicks, YP.com and Advance Publications.

“The future of marketing is going to be about giving customers the right information at the right time, based on purchase intent. That’s why I’m so excited to be joining Synup,” Barclay said. “Consumer behaviour is changing rapidly, and the Synup Intent Marketing Cloud is in the perfect position to drive outcomes that truly help our customers’ bottom lines.”

Salesforce appoints a Dame to lead its UKI business
Dame Jayne-Anne Gadhia will join Salesforce as its UK and Ireland chief executive officer on 1 October to lead the business through its next stage of growth.

Gadhia is founder of the startup, Snoop. Previously she was the CEO of Virgin Money from 2007 to 2018. As a chartered accountant, she spent six years at Norwich Union (now Aviva) before becoming one of the founders of Virgin Direct in 1995. Three years later, she set up the Virgin One account, which was acquired by The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in 2001. She subsequently spent five years at RBS before returning to Virgin as CEO of Virgin Money. She became a Dame in the 2019 New year Honours list for her contribution to financial services and women in the finance industry.

“I’ve admired Salesforce from afar for a long time,” said Gadhia. “This is a different kind of business, with deeply held values and a true focus on transforming the experience of every customer through cutting edge technology. I’m looking forward to working with the team as we continue to invest and support Salesforce’s growing customer base in UKI.”

Bhasin joins Shutterstock’s board
Shutterstock has added Rachna Bhasin to its board of directors, where she will serve on the compensation committee.

Bhasin, founder and CEO of EQ Partners and co-founder of Pacifica Investments, previously served as chief business officer at Magic Leap for over three years. Here, she helped grow the team and led business development, M&A, and strategic partnerships. Since departing in January, she has continued to work with Magic Leap as a senior advisor to the CEO.

Before Magic Leap, she held the role of senior vice president of corporate strategy and business development at SiriusXM Radio, and has previously held senior positions at Dell and EMI Music North America. Bhasin currently serves on the board for Ryman Hospitality Properties and is a current member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Twitch brings in Cowan as advertising marketing director
Fran Cowan has been hired by Amazon-owned live streaming platform Twitch as its first director of advertiser marketing. Starting on 12 August, she will be charged with raising the profile of the Twitch sales proposition.

Cowan joins Twitch after seven years at InSkin Media, where she started as the company’s first marketing executive and progressed to the role of chief marketing officer. She is also VP of marketing at the International Advertising Association (IAA) UK.

Smith takes up head business role at Location Sciences
Location Sciences, a location verification provider, has appointed Jason Smith as its US chief business officer. Reporting to CEO Mark Slade, he will work to establish and build relationships with key customers in the US and develop marketing strategies to raise awareness of inaccurate location fraud and its impact on campaign performance.

Smith joins with over 16 years experience in the out-of-home and digital advertising space. He was a former senior partner and MD of Mindshare, where he led the business and performance strategy for clients including Geico and Capital One. Prior to Mindshare, he spent 10 years at Horizon Media. In his most recent role as VP of digital investments, he headed up trading and partnership developments.

“With location data transparency, integrity and privacy compliance under increasing scrutiny, I felt the opportunity to lead the US team at Location Sciences was too good to turn down,” said Smith. “I look forward to being part of the team that helps marketers drive exponential performance results within the $160 billion digital advertising marketplace.”

UM looks to Smalls-Landau to lead marketing
Deidre Smalls-Landau has been named as US chief marketing officer at IPG Mediabrands’ marketing and media agency network, UM. Reporting to US CEO Lynn Lewis, she will oversee UMs strategic branding, platforms and initiatives, carrying over her previous responsibilities as global head of culture, to ensure a broader impact for the diversity-based cultural framework she spearheaded at the agency.

Under Smalls-Landaus leadership, UM launched Remix Culture, the first culturally-focused iteration of its annual Wave X study that tracks social and digital media usage and motivations globally. She also spearheaded the launch of UMs Unity 20/40 diversity initiative, which aims to increase diverse representation within the agency by mirroring the projected US ethnic population of the 2040, by 2020.

Smalls-Landau is the IPG representative for the Times Up/Advertising Steering Committee and a member of the 4As Media Leadership Council.

“I strongly believe that having diversity as a filter for everything we do is a catalyst for cultural transformation and business growth, and an imperative for creating meaningful impact within all levels of an organization,” said Smalls-Landau. “Im excited for the opportunity to play a greater role in applying cultural perspective in how we go to market as we think about audience behaviours and trends.”

Boler to manage Scibids sales outside London
AI-powered ad tech firm Scibids has appointed One Link Digital, headed up by Peter Boler, to bolster its presence outside of London. Boler, acting as regional sales director, has been tasked with partnering with agencies and brands across Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Scotland who are interested in discovering how powerful the creation and deployment of custom algorithms can be on their campaigns.

Boler brings with him over 20 years of experience within digital advertising and has held senior sales roles at companies including, Yahoo, MEN Media, The Exchange Lab and most recently, Weve (O2).

“In today’s complex environment, marketers and agencies want and need the benefits of domain specific AI capabilities, yet are hesitant because of the resource and investment it incurs,” said Boler. “Scibids is a fascinating business that’s transparent and flexible and I’m sure its AI as a Service business model will be a game-changer for the industry.”

Centro adds Gensler in senior client development role
David Gensler has joined Centro, a digital marketing solutions provider, as senior vice president of client development. He will work with both agencies and clients to implement the company’s ‘Basis’ platform and integrate programmatic advertising with media planning, buying, operations, campaign analytics, business intelligence, and billing reconciliation.

Prior to joining Centro, Gensler operated his own firm, GSD Consulting, to strengthen the marketing capabilities of organisations in the data science and technology sectors. He was also senior vice president of the food beverage spirits category for Time, Inc., overseeing the group’s advertising sales. Before that, he was EVP and head of ad sales for LiveIntent. Gensler has also led and scaled sales teams for Millennial Media and AOL. 

“Considering the pressures that media agencies face from clients and stakeholders, we believe that Basis profoundly affects their ability to drive performance and profitability through automation,” said Gensler. “Centro has the opportunity to transform the way marketers work because of our game-changing technology, national sales coverage and principled reputation.”

Knights takes spot in WorkMobile’s software dev team
Mobile data capture specialist WorkMobile has appointed Che Knights as a software developer. As a C# developer, he will help to develop the company’s systems in line with industry best practice.

Knights has more than 20 years of software development experience. He has held a variety of programmer and developer positions at Pets at Home, Pregis and, most recently, Kaonix.

DoubleVerify opts for Bukhari as MD
Tanzil Bukhari has taken up the position of EMEA managing director at digital media measurement software firm DoubleVerify. Based in London, he is charged with leading the company’s expansion efforts across Europe with an added focus on Russia and the Nordics, while strengthening the company’s business relationships with brands, agencies and media platforms.

A 20-year media industry veteran, Bukhari previously worked at Google as EMEA head of agency development. Previously, he was head of DoubleClick Ad Exchange in Northern and Central Europe, where he launched DoubleClick AdX in EMEA.

“Global brands continue to address the issues of fraud, brand safety and viewability within their campaigns, and how they impact marketing effectiveness and business outcomes,” said Bukhari. “I’m excited to leverage my deep experience in programmatic and digital media to help accelerate DV’s growth across Europe.”

McCurry named chief of strategy at IAS
Integral Ad Science (IAS) has chosen Kevin McCurry as its chief strategy officer. Reporting directly to CEO Lisa Utzschneider, he will lead the organisation in identifying and evaluating large-scale strategic opportunities for the company with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.

McCurry boasts over 25 years of experience in strategy and corporate development. Prior to joining IAS, he was an executive in residence at Partners Healthcare, where he supported major data strategy, billing operations, and machine learning initiatives. Before that, he was senior vice president of corporate development and strategy at SunGard. McCurry has also been chief strategy officer for Thomson Reuters’ healthcare and science data and information businesses.

“Marketplaces — whether in financial services, healthcare, or advertising — benefit when buyers and sellers can access trusted and meaningful data supported by a highly-technical data science team. Media Chain gives Edwards lead sales role
Jon Edwards has been hired as head of sales at Media Chain, Social Chain’s social-first publishing arm. Based in London, he will hold responsibility of all Media Chain brand partnership sales across the UK, initially focusing on growing the social media publishing business and will work to deliver highly engaging and effective campaigns.

Edwards previously held the role of brand partnerships account director at LadBible Group and is also formerly of Hearst and Trinity Mirror, where he has worked with the likes of PepsiCo, Amazon, Sony Columbia, Ladbrokes Coral, and Warner Bros.

“I’m very honoured to be joining Media Chain and to work on developing their commercial offering across their vast and progressive portfolio of brands,” said Edwards. “To have the opportunity to work on fantastic brands like SPORF, Student Problems and GameByte among many others, alongside some of the best entrepreneurial thought leaders in the social space at a time of ambitious growth, excites me. Doucette elevated to creative head at Leo Burnett
Leo Burnett Chicago has promoted Jordan Doucette to the role of chief creative officer. Reporting jointly to president and chief strategy officer of Leo Burnett Chicago Emma Montgomery and chierf creative officer of Leo Burnett Worldwide, she will oversee the creative and production departments at Leo Burnett Chicago.

Doucette, who’s been as the agency since January 2018, most recently served as executive vice president/executive creative director. In her new role, she will continue to lead the creative for clients including The Kellogg Company and Miller-Coors.

Previously, she was chief creative officer of Taxi in Toronto, where she led work for clients including Pfizer (Centrum, Advil and Robax), Canadian Tire, Marks, Fido Telecommunications, Mini Cooper, Vancouver Aquarium, and BC Hydro.

“What attracted me to Leo Burnett is that its a creative solutions company that is continually transforming how we work to bring the best, most effective ideas to the table,” said Doucette. “Im most excited that this role will help me get closer to our clients and our teams to help shape not only the work, but how we work.”

FCB brings Ordóñez onboard as head of creative
Andrés Ordóñez has been hired as chief creative officer at FCB Chicago. He will work closely with global chief creative officer Susan Credle and join the agency’s Global Creative Council.

Ordóñez has spent the last five years at Energy BBDO, working with clients including Wrigley, Bayer, MillerCoors, SC Johnson, American Egg Board, Avocados From Mexico, National Safety Council, Ocean Spray, and Luxottica. Prior to Energy BBDO, he launched Ford Sync.

“I am very happy to have the chance to work with Susan. I have always thought I was destined to work with her. Pokkt selects Kumar as head of technology
Dinesh Kailash Kumar has been appointed as chief technology officer at Pokkt, a mobile in-game advertising platform. Based in Bangalore and reporting to co-founder and CEO Rohit Sharma, he will lead the company’s technology function.

Kumar has worked at organisations including Amazon, InMobi, Microsoft, and Yahoo. At Amazon, he led a 50-member international tech division in Bangalore, where his teams built software solutions for the automotive category and vendor management solutions.

Before Amazon, he was at InMobi as their VP of engineering. In this role, he led the brand and programmatic engineering initiatives managing engineering activities spanning across Bangalore and San Francisco.

“Pokkt’s growth in the past few years has been commendable and to be a part of the team that takes good quality in-game advertising to the next level is very exciting for me,” said Kumar. “I look forward to building best in class advertising products that will power the next phase of POKKT’s growth.”

Matta installed to lead ICX Media
Video analytics startup ICX Media has handed Serge Matta the role of president and chief executive officer. Michael Avon, the founder of the company, will remain actively involved as executive chairman.

Matta joins ICX Media from GroundTruth, where he served as president. During his tenure, he managed GroundTruth’s global sales and marketing teams. He was instrumental in GroundTruth’s acquisition of WeatherBug and securing Dentsu Japan as a strategic partner.
