Headspace names Zapata as CMO
Val Kaplan Zapata will join mindfulness and meditation-focused app Headspace as Chief Marketing Officer next month. She will join the senior leadership team and lead a cross-functional marketing team with shared responsibility for acquisition, conversion, and retention.

Zapata most recently held the role of Vice President of Growth Marketing for Hulu, where she led growth marketing efforts across the full subscriber lifecycle, including media, acquisition, lifecycle and analytics. Prior to Hulu, she led growth efforts for both direct-to-consumer and media businesses. Zapata built the business development function at Helix Sleep and worked on market operations and monetisation at Instagram.

“I am thrilled and privileged to be joining the talented team at Headspace,” said Zapata. “At this moment in time, I can’t think of a more powerful mission than spreading health and happiness to all. I look forward to helping a growing member base create healthy wellness routines that last a lifetime.”

Madan joins Birdeye as CIO
Birdeye, an experience marketing platform, has hired Sunil Madan as its Chief Information Officer. He will head up revenue operations, internal technology, and help build processes and infrastructure for scale.

Madan arrives at Birdeye from Zoom, where he served as corporate CIO. At Zoom, he was responsible for defining business transformation and executing operations strategy during a period of exceptional growth for the cloud-based video communications platform. He was also previously responsible for strategically designing and executing RingCentrals business systems architecture.

“Customer experience is so close to my heart, and I just love companies that continue to raise the bar in providing delightful experiences, while having a laser focus on categorical transformations. I’m very excited to bring my playbook to Birdeye to help the company’s founders rapidly scale a successful platform and a vision that matches exactly what multi-location businesses need to thrive,” said Madan.

Criteo brings in Scheel on DEI
Rachel Scheel has become the first Senior Vice President of Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at ad tech company Criteo. She will be responsible for designing and driving Criteos Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programme, collaborating across the organisation to launch strategic initiatives that foster a more diverse and inclusive culture.

Scheel joins Criteo with over 20 years of experience in HR leadership roles. Prior to joining Criteo, she was the Global Executive for Culture, Inclusion, Diversity and Engagement at GE Healthcare. In this role, she was responsible for driving employee engagement for the business along with the diversity and inclusion strategy, and aligning with learning and development, talent, reward, and employee life-cycle mechanisms to do so.

“In my career, I have been a passionate advocate for diversity and making a real difference both inside and outside of an organization,” said Scheel. “I am eager to drive Criteo forward in becoming equitable throughout every level of the company, driving engagement from leadership to management and employees to deliver an inclusive culture.”

Hesse takes seat at head of Akamai board
Content distribution network Akamai Technologies has appointed its current Director and Chair of the Environmental, Social, and Governance committee, Daniel R. Hesse, to Chairman of its Board of Directors. Hesse will succeed Frederic V. Salerno upon his retirement in June.

Hesse has been an Akamai board member since August 2016. He is the former CEO of Sprint and currently serves as a member of the boards at Just Capital and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

“It has been a pleasure to work alongside Fred. He has been a great partner in and out of the boardroom and I thank him for his leadership,” said Hesse. “I am honoured to succeed him as Akamais chairman and look forward to helping the management team increase Akamais role in enabling a connected world of unimagined potential.”

Dreams promotes Hegenbartova to CCO
Lucia Hegenbartova has been announced as Chief Commercial Officer at Swedish financial wellbeing platform Dreams. She will be responsible for building Dreams’ new B2B business unit dedicated to the acquisition and development of B2B partnerships, overseeing all revenue-generating functions across the sales, marketing and customer success departments, and carrying out Dreams’ international expansion strategy.

Hegenbartova joined Dreams in April 2020, serving as Country Manager for Germany and then Head of Customer Success B2B. Prior to Dreams, she was instrumental in the market launch of three other tech startups in a number of senior roles including Chief Operating Officer at Contiamo, VP of Marketing at CrossEngage, and VP of Marketing at Commercetools.

“From day one I’ve been fully on board with the company’s vision of empowering people to feel better about their money, and I’ve been really impressed with how Dreams has already flawlessly delivered on this mission by significantly, and measurably, improving the financial wellbeing of thousands of customers,” commented Hegenbartova.

BianRosa to take up CPO gig at N26
Mobile banking platform N26 has named Gilles BianRosa as its Chief Product Officer. Taking up the role ‘in the coming months’, he will lead all product teams based across the companys main offices and technology hubs in Berlin, Barcelona, Vienna and New York and be responsible for defining, steering, and implementing N26’s global product strategy.

BianRosa was most recently CPO at SoundClound and, before that, CPO at Samsung Electronics, where he oversaw content and services for Samsung Smart TVs globally. He was also the Co-founder and CEO of FanTV and Vuze.

“After almost two decades in Silicon Valley, Im very pleased to be joining one of the most dynamic product teams in FinTech globally,” said BianRosa. “I look forward to applying my experience from the world of online consumer services to help N26 continue to connect authentically with its customers. Having already begun to redefine banking for customers, I believe that N26 has a unique opportunity to touch more aspects of daily life with their simple, trusted, and delightful experience.”

Freshworks recruits SaaS veteran Epstein as CMO
Stacey Epstein has been brought in as Chief Marketing Officer at Freshworks, a customer engagement software company. She will play a pivotal role in Freshworks’ next phase of growth, leading global marketing strategy for the company.

Epstein was ranked as one of the ‘Top 50 women leaders in SaaS of 2020’ by The Software Report and hailed as the ‘Global CMO of the Year’ by Enterprise IT World. She took SuccessFactors from $10m in ARR through six years of triple-digit revenue growth, an IPO, and subsequent acquisition by SAP for $3.4bn. She went on to join the ServiceMax founding team then went on to serve as CEO of Zinc, which was acquired by ServiceMax in 2019. Epstein stayed on at ServiceMax as Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer until her move to Freshworks.

Meier arrives to lead digital marketing at Organic
Digital agency Organic has hired Gillian Meier as its Head of Digital Marketing, a new role for the agency. She will be responsible for the creation and delivery of digital marketing strategies across all accounts and disciplines, particular focusing on improving the data and analytics performance, while working closely with Organic’s Creative, UX, and SEO leads to deliver best in class results for clients.

Meier arrives at Organic with 24 years of experience in the digital sphere. She was most recently CEO & Global Head Global Head of BlueMagnet, a business that she founded.

Brand Advance turns to Lawson-Wall to direct on people
Melanie Lawson-Wall has been appointed as Director of People and Wellbeing at global diversity media network Brand Advance. She will be responsible for devising and deploying a new HR and wellbeing framework for the business.

Lawson-Wall started her career as a performance coach in the education space and has provided leadership advice to businesses including Deltatre. She is the Founder of Assist Coaching and Text Coaches. Lawson-Wall is also part of the CIPD Steering Group.

Bezi? added to board at Infobip
Infobip, a cloud communications company, has welcomed its new Vice President of Planning and Strategy Implementation, Marin Bezi?, to its Board of Directors. He will be responsible for optimising business management including enhancing the go-to-market framework and overseeing revenue operations.

Previously at Microsoft, Bezi? was central to product development and the force behind Microsofts first business intelligence application. After spending eight years at Microsoft’s global HQ in Washington state, he moved to Microsoft’s EMEA HQ in London, where he led the application platform business in over 100 countries. In 2009, he returned to his native Croatia to run his own consultancy firm.

Flashtalking selects Tuminello as strategy VP
Michael Tuminello has been hired as Vice President of Strategy at Flashtalking, an ad management platform. He will be instrumental in bringing Flashtalking’s offerings to market globally across Europe, the US, and APAC and refining them to keep pace with a rapidly changing market.

Tuminello brings varied and deep industry experience to the new role at Flashtalking, with over 15 years in leadership at companies including Integral Ad Science, Innovid, and Sizmek.

“Having watched Flashtalking evolve and lead in the industry, I’ve always been really impressed with the breadth and depth of the offering,” said Tuminello. “I’m excited to guide our ongoing advance into the verification space, particularly as the industry seeks to establish a foundation of trust in the high-value OTT and CTV channels.”

Clarizio takes spot on board at Simpli.fi
Programmatic ad company Simpli.fi has added Lynda Clarizio to its Board of Directors.

Clarizio has previously held the positions of President of US Media at Nielsen, Executive Vice President at AppNexsus, CEO at Invision, President of Advertising.com, and Board Member at IAB, among others.

“True to its name, Simpli.fi has simplified programmatic buying and cross-channel workflow for thousands of independent agencies, enabling them to better serve brands in media planning and buying,” said Clarizio. “I am pleased to join Simpli.fi’s board and look forward to working with Frost Prioleau and Paul Harrison as Simpli.fi continues to grow and expand.”

Brand Metrics expands London team
Dhruv Roy and Sumran Kaul have joined measurement company Brand Metrics as Integrations Manager and Client Lead respectively.

Roy is an accomplished digital advertising specialist, and has held roles in a range of businesses including Microsoft, Apple, DAZN, the BBC, Zee5 and SoundCloud.

Kaul was most recently Senior Manager of Insights at News UK, where he used research and insight to advise clients when planning and executing their marketing strategy and objectives. He has also held insights leadership roles at Ofcom and ITV. 

“Dhruv and Sumran boast impressive technical knowledge and broad experience, but they are also strategic thinkers and passionate team players,” says Anders Lithner, CEO of Brand Metrics. “The response we’ve had from the UK media market has been overwhelming. Kelleher added to mParticle board
mParticle, a customer data platform, has announced the arrival of Eric Kelleher to its Board of Directors.

Kelleher is currently Chief Customer Officer at Okta, where he oversees all of Okta’s customer relationships and is responsible for building its global teams and businesses for professional services, education services, success management, customer support, and subscription renewals. Prior to Okta, he spent 11 years in customer leadership roles at Salesforce. Kelleher was also the first Global Head of Customer Success at LinkedIn Talent Solutions.

“The market for data infrastructure to help teams leverage their customer data to drive personalized customer experiences is exploding,” said Kelleher. “The opportunity is enormous and theyve built a great company with incredible momentum. Bauer Media hands Brookes CRO gig
Charlie Brookes has been appointed as Chief Revenue Officer of Digital Audio UK at Bauer Media Audio. He will deliver Bauer Media’s digital audio commercial growth strategy and report into Abby Carvosso, who was recently appointed Director of Commercial Transformation.

The appointment of Brookes follows the launch of Bauer Media Audio’s joint venture with News UK, Octave. The venture, led by Brookes, provides brands with the opportunity to target audio audiences powered by first-party data, in a brand safe environment. Brookes will continue to lead Octave alongside his new role.

“With advertisers becoming more sophisticated and data-led and our IP audiences growing rapidly, this is such an exciting time to explore digital audio advertising,” said Brookes. “Unlocking our strategy will be key to the future success of our business, so I’m delighted to take on this new challenge and role.”

Simo and McCarthy join Instacart board
Online grocery platform Instacart has added Fidji Simo and Barry McCarthy to its Board of Directors.

Simo is currently the Head of Facebook App, where she leads the development and strategy for the Facebook App, including news feed, stories, groups, video, marketplace, gaming, news, fating, ads, and more. Before Facebook, where she has been since 2011, Simo worked as part of the strategy team at eBay. She also co-founded Women in Product, a non-profit to help women reach leadership positions in product management.

“I am proud to be joining Apoorva [Mehta] and the rest of Instacarts Board of Directors. The COVID-19 pandemic has created a new normal for all of us, and it has put a spotlight on the role that services like Instacart can play in making peoples lives easier, and creating economic opportunity for many,” said Simo. “Instacarts services have been a lifeline for my family and many others during the pandemic, and I see it as an essential service going forward. I look forward to joining the Board and helping guide the talented Instacart team as they continue to scale and create more products and services that people love.”

McCarthy was previously Chief Financial Officer at Spotify from 2015 to January 2020 and Global Head of its advertising businesses from September 2016 to January 2020. Prior to Spotify, he was a prior investor and member of the Board of Directors of several private companies. From 1999 to 2010, he was Chief Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer at Netflix.

“Im excited to be joining Instacarts Board of Directors. Ive gotten to know Apoorva and the management team over the last year, and have been impressed by how theyve successfully navigated the company through a time of unprecedented growth, while also meeting the needs of their customers, shoppers, and retail partners,” said McCarthy. “Grocery ecommerce in North America is at a tipping point, and I believe Instacart is well positioned to continue to lead in the space as consumer adoption increases over the coming years.”

Microsoft selects Yang as China boss
HOU Yang has been named as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer for the Greater China Region (GCR) at Microsoft. He will succeed Alain Crozier and lead the company’s Global Sales, Marketing and Operations organisation in the GCR.

Yang joins Microsoft from Qualcomm, where he served eight years in both the US and China, most recently as Senior Vice President of the Semiconductor business. He led a team which collaborated with telecom and mobile internet partners to migrate wireless technologies, deepened partnerships with Chinese corporations across industries, and drove technology innovation together with an array of ecosystem partners in China.

“HOU Yang is a proven transformational leader, bringing strong technology industry ecosystem partner development capabilities as well as local insight to enable customers,” said Ahmed Mazhari, President of Microsoft Asia. “He is an experienced business leader across operations, product optimization and sales with a track record in partner and customer engagement. He brings a balanced combination of strategic thinking and execution discipline, that delivered outsized growth. We are incredibly fortunate to have a strong leader, like him, at the helm in Greater China to navigate our future and unlock the growth opportunities available to us.”

Meshkinyar appointed as product VP at Uberall
Uberall, a location marketing solution, has hired Kimia Meshkinyar as its Vice President of Global Product & Revenue Marketing. She will ensure that Uberall’s solutions consistently deliver value to its customers and help the company to serve its customers when and where they need it.

Meshkinyar brings over thirteen years of international marketing experience in product marketing, market analysis, segmentation, and developing go-to-market strategies for technology solutions and services to the role. Prior to joining Uberall, she most recently served as VP of Global Product Marketing at Acrolinx. She has also worked for Evalueserve and Elsevier.

“I am delighted to be joining the Uberall team and look forward to helping brands and businesses realise the benefits of providing an outstanding ‘Near Me’ Brand Experience in new and innovative ways,” said Meshkinyar. “Uberall’s truly ‘service-oriented approach’ not only creates value for their customers, it adds to its wonderful culture and makes it even more motivating to join the team.”

Bango hires Garner as CFO
Matthew Garner has become Chief Financial Officer and joined the Board of Directors at mobile commerce company Bango. He replaces Carolyn Rand, who will remain at Bango as a Consultant.

Garner, who is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, joins Bango from Global Invacom, where he held the role of CFO for seven years. During his time at Global Invacom, Garner oversaw the successful IPO of the business on AIM and the continuing listing on the mainboard in Singapore. He also drove the acquisition and integration of five companies.

“I am thrilled to join the talented team at Bango, at a time when so many growth opportunities lie ahead,” Garner Commented. “The Bango virtuous circle strategy, where payment volumes drive payment insights – and vice versa – is compelling and the Bango vision of becoming the technology behind every payment choice is irresistible.”

Rush and Best signed by Teads
Media platform Teads has recruited Clare Rush as Vice President of Agency Development and Dan Best as Industry Director FMCG in the UK.

Rush will be tasked with driving business growth and new revenue development for Teads. She joins after serving as a Consultant for the company for two years. She started her career at IPC magazines and worked for Gruner & Jahr and Nat magazines before moving to MEC (now Wavemaker). Prior to her Consultant work with Teads, Rush worked at DMGT as Chief Revenue Officer at the MailOnline.

“I’m excited to join a company which is growing and providing such outstanding service to its clients,” said Rush. “With my experience of working as Chief Revenue Officer at one of the biggest online publishers, I’m looking forward to building on the incredible success at Teads and being part of its future growth.”

Best will be responsible for expanding Teads’ relationships with FMCG clients in the UK. Before joining Teads, he was part of the Unruly executive team responsible for the most successful exit of a UK ad tech business to date for $176m to News Corp. Most recently, he was Head of Advertising EMEA for WildBrain Spark, the largest independent global kids and family media company.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Teads and have the opportunity to apply my expertise to boost its FMCG offering,” commented Best. “The company has been agile over the last twelve months and as a result grown its products and services. I’m looking forward to working with the entire team and being part of an organisation which is thriving.”

Teads has also made a number of promotions including Ryan Cook to Deputy Managing Director, with Melisa Jones taking over as Head of Marketing for the UK and Netherlands as Graham Alexander moves to Global Director of Communications and PR.

AdRoll announces Saxena as President
Roli Saxena has been named as President of martech company NextRoll’s AdRoll division. She will be focused on leveraging the company’s roots in data and machine learning to drive adoption of the AdRoll Ecommerce Marketing Platform by direct-to-consumer marketers.

Saxena was most recently Chief Customer Officer at Brex, where she was responsible for customer revenue and launching Brex banking products. Prior to that, she held a variety of leadership roles at LinkedIn and was also Co-Founder of LinkedIn Women’s Network program.

“Outside of the market opportunity, what really swayed my decision to join was the people I met during the interview process and the overall culture of inclusion across the entire NextRoll organization,” said Saxena. “As an introvert and woman of color, I have experienced environments where I did not fit in or felt I didn’t belong, so it was refreshing to see the focus of NextRoll on culture and inclusion. There are many companies who talk about D&I and I was impressed to see that NextRoll did more than talk about it but operationalized D&I in the fabric of the culture.”

Wedgbury takes up digital lead gig at H&S
Marketing agency Hearts & Science (H&S) UK has appointed Louis Wedgbury to the newly created role of Head of Digital. Reporting directly to MD Garrett O’Reilly, his remit includes driving the agency’s digital offering, working closely with H&S Chief Data Officer James Londal to spearhead new product developments as well as rolling out digital innovation solutions for existing clients.

Wedgbury joins from Forward PMX, where he led all strategic thinking and co-developed the consultancy offering as Head of Strategy. He has held senior positions at media and digital performance agencies, working across a client base that includes Nike, Chanel, Light Box, Ralph Lauren, HSBC, Virgin Holidays, and PVH.

“It’s a pivotal time in the evolution of the agency/client relationship and Hearts & Science offers a rare opportunity in the market for clients to realise their data and tech ambitions – a mission I’m completely aligned with,” said Wedgbury. “I’m looking forward to accelerating the agency’s digital offer, embedding best practice at every stage of the digital workflow and expanding the agency offering to provide a best in class digital department that exceeds client needs. The significant added bonus is being part of a future-facing team who appreciates not only the value of progressive working practices, but also the importance of a diverse and sustainable working culture.”

Stationhead recruits Armenia to direct on partnerships
Joe Armenia is joining social audio platform Stationhead as Director of Creator Partnerships. Reporting to COO Murray Levison, he will be responsible for recruiting some of today’s best creators and influencers to develop shows for the platform and create unique live experiences.

Armenia previously served as Director of Artist and Creator Relations at SoundCloud, where he developed SoundCloud’s first global team tasked with representing, supporting, and educating creator communities about content and marketing opportunities to connect with fans, monetise their work, and grow their audiences. Prior to that, he was Global Head of Content Partnerships and Editorial at Rdio (acquired by Pandora) and Vice President of Music Marketing at MTV.

“I have always had a passion for finding innovative ways for creators to connect with fans, and Stationhead uniquely offers that,” said Afmenia. “Stationhead has first to market advantage and has built the patented technology to revolutionize the traditional radio model into a truly social audio experience. I am excited to work with top creators as they connect with fans around the world on Stationhead.”

Astrowsky joins Consumer Acquisition as GM
Consumer Acquisition (CA), a social ad agency, has hired Evan Astrowsky as the General Manager of its Creative Studio division. He will leverage his more than 15 years of expertise in advertising and commercial production to drive CA’s Creative Studio.

Astrowsky has produced feature films, like Cabin Fever and Fanboys, and has overseen commercial and content production for brands at agencies including Ayzenberg, Petrol, and Contend. At Ayzenberg, he led the production team delivering thousands of pieces of content annually, including everything from multi-million-dollar budget broadcast spots to daily social media videos for brands, including Microsoft, Xbox, and Oculus.

“I am excited to bring my years of hands-on production experience to the Creative Studio. Expanding our global capabilities, helping to improve upon creative execution and ultimately delivering the best quality work for brands is something I look forward to leading,” said Astrowsky.

Organic promotes Scoggins to CEO
Ben Scoggins has been elevated to Chief Executive Officer at digital agency Organic. He will focus on the day-to-day running of Organic and overseeing a strategy to ensure the continued success of the agency.

Scoggins was originally hired as Commercial Director in spring 2018 and was promoted to Managing Director in autumn 2019.

Now TV brings in Schwartz as director
Jamie Schwartz has joined Sky’s online subscription television service, Now TV, as Director of Brand, Marketing and Merchandising. Reporting to Managing Director Marina Storti, he will be responsible for core brand development and guardianship, marketing strategy and campaigns, media planning, as well as PR, social, editorial, and in-product merchandising.

Schwartz arrives at Now TV from Universal Pictures International, where he served as Executive Vice President of Marketing for Focus Features and was responsible for devising and implementing theatrical film release plans, international marketing strategy and campaigns, PVOD / VOD release strategy, and creative development. Prior to this, he held senior positions at The Weinstein Company, Momentum Pictures, and AMV BBDO.

“I am delighted to be joining Now TV. As films move from screen to stream, I’m excited to do the same,” said Schwartz.

Ainley to take up CEO role at Ericsson
Ericsson has appointed Katherine Ainley as Chief Executive Officer for the UK and Ireland, effective 1 February 2021. She succeeds John Griffin, who will return to his role as Country Manager for Ericsson Ireland having acted in the CEO role since October.

Ainley will join Ericsson from BT, where she has held a number of senior executive positions since 2007, including the recent roles of Managing Director of Ventures in Enterprise and CEO of Tikit, a then wholly owned subsidiary of BT.

“Ericsson is at the forefront of 5G deployment around the world, playing an especially critical role here in the UK and Ireland where the technology is so important to the economic ambitions for both countries,” commented Ainley. “I am honoured and excited to be joining as CEO in February and look forward to leading Ericsson’s accelerated network deployment and opening up 5G as an exciting innovation platform for the future in partnership with all mobile network operators.”

McCann makes series of promotions
Chris Macdonald has taken on the role of Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at McCann, while Harjot Singh has been promoted to Global Chief Strategy Officer and Singleton Beato to Global Executive Vice President, Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer.

Macdonald, who previously served as President of Advertising and Allied brands for McCann, will now focus on leading the advertising network, along with Singh, previously Chief Strategy Officer for McCann Worldgroup EMEA.

“I have been lucky enough to work for McCann in many different roles over the last 15 years,” said Macdonald. “McCann has an incredibly rich history of creativity and innovation, partnering with some of worlds biggest and best brands and is full of fantastically talented people. I look forward to building the best future for our clients, partners and all our people around the world.”

Beato joined McCann Worldgroup as Chief Diversity & Engagement Office in 2017 and was responsible for designing and leading strategic workforce diversity and engagement solutions. In her expanded role, she will report directly to McCann Worldgroup Chairman and CEO Bill Kolb.

In addition to the above promotions, Kate MacNevin, the MRM CEO, will add the title of Chairwoman.

Henderson and Hallahan join Blippar US leadership
Blippar, an augmented reality technology company, has hired Carla Henderson as Vice President of Brand Partnerships and Jack Hallahan as Executive Vice President or Partnerships. Both will report to CEO Faisal Galaria and work closely with US Chief Commercial Officer Keith Curtin.

Henderson built Blippar’s West Coast partnerships team in 2017 before relocating from Los Angeles to London for another gig. She now returns to Blippar to work with clients in both the US and UK. Before re-joining Blippar, Henderson held positions at LiveSmart, Vibrant Media, and True(X).

“I am thrilled to be back on the Blippar team,” said Henderson. “The company is a true pioneer in AR and uniquely placed to be a market leader as the technology is now entering the mainstream. With so many new clients on-board, Im excited to help them use Blippar’s technology to stand out from their competitors and meet their consumer engagement goals in highly creative, and unique ways.”

Hallahan has over two decades of partnership experience. He was previously Senior Vice President of Partnerships at Celtra, where he grew sales six-fold in his territory. More recently, he was Vice President of Partnerships at Thunder, where he introduced an account-based model to the sales team that delivered a 200 per cent increase in revenue.

“Audience engagement now calls for innovation more than ever before, making it an exciting time for AR technology,” commented Hallahan. “I’ve had my eye on Blippar for a long time, so I’m looking forward to using my broad range of experience to help its clients leverage AR in their businesses.”

DAZN adds Segev as CEO
Shay Segev and James Rushton have been named as Co-Chief Executive Officers at sports streaming platform DAZN.

Segev will join DAZN in the coming months from Entain. He will work alongside Rushton, who has been Group Acting CEO since June 2020. Rushton was previously Chief Revenue Officer, where he oversaw all market launches and revenue management functions.

“It is incredible to be given an opportunity to lead a business with global reach and ambition as well as the technology and resources to deliver sports to the world,” said Segev. “This role allows me to combine my passion for sport and transformative technology to disrupt and improve the consumer experience.”

Rushton added, “Having been intimately involved in DAZN since its conception, I am pleased and excited to welcome Shay and lead DAZN Group together as we enter the next exciting chapter in our evolution.”

Parkinson to direct entertainment at OneFootball
Digital football media business OneFootball has announced Denise Parkinson as its Global Entertainment Director. Reporting to UK Sales Director Edward Desbois, she will be responsible for working closely with entertainment clients from the world of streaming, film, gaming and music to help them distribute their existing premium commercial content and create new innovative solutions.

Parkinson boasts more than 25 years of experience in the media and marketing industries. She previously worked as Global Entertainment Director at Telegraph Media Group and as Director of Marketing EMEA at Walt Disney TV.

“I am hugely excited to join OneFootball. It is a powerful, innovative brand with a young, passionate and engaged audience and I look forward to forming new partnerships with like-minded brands and advertisers,” said Parkinson.

Incubeta appoints Lehne as CEO
Lars Lehne has become Group Chief Executive Officer at Incubeta, a digital marketing services group. He will take over from Founder Alan Lipschitz, whose company Interface made the reverse acquisition of Incubeta Holdings in 2011. Lipschitz will move into the role of Chairperson on the Board of Directors.

Lehne, who has more than 30 years of industry experience, previously spent four years as Global CEO of Syzygy. Before that, he spent seven years at Google as Country Director Agency DACH and also held senior management positions at agencies including Maxus, GroupM, Carat, and MEC. Lehne is also a member of the advisory board for Yext and Betterplace.org and an angel investor in Claimini.

Povey to direct on marketing at Feefo
Feefo, a reviews and customers insights technology company, has recruited Keith Povey as its Director of Marketing. He will be tasked with developing Feefo’s marketing strategy as the company further develops its customer-based business intelligence platform.

Povey’s previous experience has seen him work at all levels of the technology industry, from startups to global enterprises including IBM, Verizon, SAP, and Cisco.

Rightpoint brings in Zalewski as Europe MD
Marty Zalewski has been named as Managing Director of Europe at Genpact-owned global experience firm Rightpoint. He will lead efforts to build on the company’s organic growth in the region.

Zalewski brings over 20 years of experience in growth-focused innovation to his role with Rightpoint. His tenure includes work in consulting and private equity including founding The Mindful Eye.

Cooper and Gedman join Conjura as directors
eCommerce data specialist Conjura has added Adele Cooper and Paul Gedman as Non-executive Directors.

Cooper, who will support Conjura on sales, marketing, and HR, was most recently UK & Ireland Country Manager at Pinterest. Prior to that, she worked at Google and then at Facebook in both their European and US headquarters across a variety of sales, marketing, and operational roles.

Gedman will help Conjura evolve and extend its eCommerce platform services. He was CEO of the beauty, wellness and luxury divisions at the Hut Group for over eight years. Before that, he was Head of Online at Littlewoods Clearance.

“Adele and Paul are high-profile industry names in technology and ecommerce. Their arrival in the business is a huge endorsement of the potential that I and the senior team see in Conjura,” said Fran Quilty, Conjura CEO.

DMA makes board appointments
Tony Miller and Mandy Merron have been appointed to the Board at the Data & Marketing Association (DMA).

Miller, who will serve a three-term on the DMA Board, is currently Marketing Director of WW (formerly Weight Watchers) and has previously held senior marketing positions at Disney and Havas CX Helia.

Merron has been named as Treasurer, succeeding Peter Smithson. She specialises in corporate finance and also served as Treasurer of The Telephone Preference Service for seven years until 2011.

“Tony and Mandy’s experience and commitment to the data and marketing sector are already evident, which will make their strategic advice and industry knowledge a valuable resource for the DMA and its membership,” said Stephen Maher, Chair of the DMA Board and CEO of MBA. “I look forward to working together, utilising their experience and passion to support the DMA and our initiatives that promote intelligent marketing across our industry, from the classroom to the boardroom.”

Rumford arrives at ChannelAdvisor
ChannelAdvisor, a cloud-based eCommerce solutions provider, has named Amy Rumford as Vice President of Global Services. She will lead ChannelAdvisors Global Services team, which includes customer implementation, global technical support, account management, and managed services.

Before joining ChannelAdvisor, Rumford worked as a consultant for the manufacturing industry. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Supply Chain Services for Advance Auto Parts. Rumford has also served in senior operations and transformation leadership roles at Google, Lenovo, and IBM.

AdInMo announces pair of senior appointments
Joanne Lacey and Konstantine Rybnikov have joined AdInMo, an in-game advertising network, as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Engineering respectively.

Lacey, as well as overseeing operations, will be responsible for driving awareness of the mobile ad tech company and help deliver the company’s commitment to enabling a developer-first monetisation channel, while also leading AdInMo’s industry engagement programme. She joins from the Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF), where she spent eight years as COO and sat on their global board. Lacey’s other previous experience comes from her time at companies including DeltaDNA, Player X, and I-play.

Rybnikov will be responsible for leading the company’s SDK development and mobile optimised platform. Prior to joining AdInMo, he held senior development positions including SoundFlow and ThoughtLeadr.

Bue Schultz and Söderblom bolster Adnami management team
Ad tech company Adnami has added Thomas Bue Schultz as Chief Technology Officer and Carl Söderblom as Vice President of Operations.

Bue Schultz will lead the technical team and ensure Adnami remains commercially and technically ahead of the curve with its products, while Söderblom will be responsible for defining and streamlining processes and taking a strategic role in executing on the company’s international growth plans.

Bue Schultz joins from cVation, where he spent seven years building technical solutions for airports and the aviation industry as Vice President of Software Development. Söderblom spent more than 10 years at Mediaplanet, where he was UK Managing Director for three and a half years before becoming Global General Manager. Söderblom’s most recent gig was at Teads.

“Carl is an entrepreneurial business leader with over ten years’ international management, sales and marketing experience. His knowledge of building teams and current ad market trends is second to none,” said Simon Kvist Gaulshøj, Adnami CEO.

“And Thomas’ technical expertise, having spent over two decades building software solutions for a range of different companies, will help us to optimise our high-impact formats in order for us to maintain our market-leading creativity and impact.”

Admix expands commercial team
Michael Silberberg has been hired as Vice President of Global Agency Partnerships, while Alex Faust has been appointed EMEA Vice President of Ad Sales, at games monetisation company Admix.

Silberberg arrives after 14 years with Google across three continents, including five years in London as Head of Global Platforms Leadership for WPP, Dentsu Aegis, and other agencies. Most recently, he served as the cross-functional leader across the entire WPP-Google relationship.

“Since I was a kid reading William Gibson, I’ve been excited by the prospect of ads engaged with immersive digital environments,” said Silberberg. “I can’t wait to drive growth of Admix’s ecosystem that enables game developers to monetize their virtual environments with in-play engagements for gamers.”

Faust spent five years at Spotify, most recently as global leader of its international ad sales and brand partnerships team. Previously, he spent seven years at Microsoft across UK and Global roles.

“With gaming top of the league for audience engagement, we are witnessing the next big shift in media. In-play brings real value to all: brands, game creators and audiences, so the road ahead is incredibly exciting,” said Faust.

Johnston promoted to CEO at Poq
App commerce firm Poq has elevated Jay Johnston to the role of Chief Executive Officer, taking over from Co-founder Øyvind Henriksen, who will continue to play an active role in the platform roadmap and product development as Senior Vice President of Product Strategy.

Johnston, who was previously Chief Technology Officer, will also join the Poq Board together with Chief Financial Officer Euan Menzies.

Gamma appoints Wade as CMPO
Chris Wade has been announced as Chief Marketing and Product Officer at unified communications provider Gamma Communications. Reporting to CEO Andrew Taylor, he replaces Alan Mackie who has decided to step down and retire.

Prior to Gamma, Wade served as Chief Product Officer at Aptitude Software. He held a number of leadership roles in strategy, product management and marketing in several different operating businesses within The Sage Group.

Pair join sales team at OnwardMobility
OnwardMobility, the mobile security company which is set to release a 5G Blackberry Android smartphone this year, has welcomed Géraud Boutibonnes as Vice President General Manager EMEA and Global Accounts (EU) and Matthew McFee as Vice President of Government Sales.

Boutibonnes is responsible for establishing and expanding OnwardMobility’s sales footprint within the EMEA region and brings extensive experience in building sales organisations and engaging EMEA carriers. For the past 10 years, Boutibonnes developed mobile broadband, CiOT, and delivered innovative solutions with global carriers headquartered in Europe as VP of global accounts and partnership in TCL.

McFee will be instrumental in positioning OnwardMobility’s BlackBerry devices as the most trusted and secure solution serving government markets around the globe. Having started his career with Motorola, where he focused on radio common carriers, federal government, and subscriber cellular, he was recruited by his customer, BellSouth, to lead the New Product and Services Development team in the US and eventually Bellsouth International in LATAM. McFee has also built and developed teams at Kyocera and Sonim.

Contentstack appoints Ogidi to lead UK sales
David Ogidi has been selected to lead UK sales and partner operations at content experience platform Contentstack as its Head of Sales for UK and Ireland. Reporting to Director of Sales Wim van Horen, he will be responsible for both account management and new business development.

Ogidi’s previous experience includes stints as Director of Sales for EMEA at Mobify and Vice President for International Business Development at Contentsquare.

Double boost for Digilant
Digilant, an omnichannel digital advertising services company, has announced Katie Gargano as its Product Marketing Manager and Matt Mahgerefteh as Manager of Analytics.

Gargano will act as a liaison between sales, marketing, and product. She brings experience from her previous position as Supervisor of Digital Planning at Harpoon Digital. Prior to that role, Gargano worked at Church Hill Classics as a Marketing Coordinator.

Organic turns to Sereg on project management
Nora Sereg has joined digital agency Organic as Digital Project Manager. She will specifically oversee projects within the Sainsbury’s Group Account following the agencys recent appointment by Sainsburys to oversee the brands SEO. She has been tasked with focusing on building the PMO at Organic and embedding project management practices across the wider team.

Sereg joins Organic after leaving her role as Senior Project Manager at Water Babies.

Digital marketing agency White Rivers Media has appointed Varun Mundra as Head of Client Partnerships. He will work to drive strategy-led creative innovations and their integrations across digital channels.

Five9 opts for Murphy as CMO
Genefa Murphy has been hired as Chief Marketing Officer at Five9, an intelligent cloud contact centre provider. Reporting to CEO Rowan Trollope, she will partner with the other members of the executive team to continue to evolve the company’s brand and reputation in the Cloud Contact Centre as-a-Service space.

Murphy joins Five9 from Micro Focus where, as CMO, she led a worldwide team who drove brand, core messaging, influencer marketing, regional and global campaigns, digital demand and sales, and technical enablement.

Dentsu places Stagg in charge of CX and Merkle UK
Anne Stagg has been named as Chief Executive Officer of Customer Experience Management (CXM) for Dentsu UK & Ireland and UK Chief Executive Officer of Merkle. She will lead a business of 940 people at Merkle while also overseeing delivery across Dentsu’s CXM business which incorporates data and analytics, CRM, commerce, media, digital experience services, and B2B.

Stagg was previously Head of Client Services at Merkle, leading the creation of a fully integrated client services team across the company’s media, analytics, customer experience and technology service lines. She is also a former Managing Director of Indicia and Chief Client Officer at KMMS.

“This is a unique opportunity, to take on the role as Merkle’s first UK CEO in a time when we are reimagining the customer experience in the digital landscape,” said Stagg. “We are continuously improving our capabilities and the potential for our CXM line of businesses is tremendous when it comes to driving and supporting our clients’ digital transformations.”

Bondy rises to CEO at Vungle
Mobile ad platform Vungle has promoted Jeremy Bondy to Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Rick Tallman, who moves into the role of Strategic Advisor.

Bondy, who joined Vungle in 2014, has held a number of senior sales and operational roles at the company, most recently as Chief Operating Officer. He has been responsible for setting up and scaling Vungle’s commercial organization, establishing teams in Berlin, London, Beijing, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo, New York, and Los Angeles.

Salesforce names Bahrololoumi as UK CEO
Zahra Bahrololoumi has been chosen as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer at Salesforce UK and Ireland. She will join the company in March 2021 to lead operations in both key markets.

Bahrololoumi will join Salesforce from Accenture, where she leads the Accenture Technology practice for the UK and Ireland with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and platforms underpinning new applications. She also sits on the board of TechUK and is a Vice Chair of the Technology Leadership Group for the Prince’s Trust.

“I am excited to join a company with such an incredible track record of driving positive change and success for its customers,” said Bahrololoumi. “Salesforce provides outstanding technology to help businesses digitally transform and there is a unique opportunity for Salesforce to accelerate its growth in the UK and Ireland. Edwards to lead EMEA digital experience at Adobe
Adobe has appointed Lee Edwards as its Vice President for Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa. He will lead Adobe’s Digital Experience business across the region.

Edwards previously led Adobe’s Digital Strategy and Solutions business in EMEA, a position he had held since joining the company in January 2020 after 14 years at SAP. He will also take on the role of Managing Director for Adobe UK, helping to drive the company’s CSR and diversity and inclusion programmes.

“Earlier this year, Adobe was named the Best Workplace in Technology among large UK companies, but this is only the beginning. Now more than ever, it is crucial that our employees feel supported in their work, their career ambitions and their personal lives,” said Edwards.

Group Nine selects Camara as DE&I head
Fanta Camara has been elevated to the role of Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at mobile video publisher Group Nine Media. She will design and lead a holistic DE&I strategy, identify growth opportunities, promote the adoption of inclusive practices and provide recommendations to senior leadership.

Camara most recently served as Human Resources Business Partner for Group Nine’s mobile news publisher, NowThis, where she developed tailored solutions for strategic workforce planning, change management and team building, in addition to serving as a Diversity and Inclusion Manager. Prior to Group Nine, she was Senior Human Resources Generalist at Snap Inc. Camara also held multiple human resources positions at The Estee Lauder Companies.

“Group Nine continues to lead the digital media space with its brands’ optimistic content that highlights diverse backgrounds, voices and opinions,” said Camara. “I am thrilled to bring my own personal and professional experience to further cement the company’s foundation as a safe place that is equitable, diverse and inclusive for every employee. Petranto to head up Kantar Analytics
Data and insights firm Kantar has appointed Chris Petranto as Global Head of Kantar Analytics. He replaces Fuentes who has taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer for the Insights division of Kantar.

Petranto, who will lead teams responsible for supporting client’s digital transformation, has been with Kantar since 2004. Before forming Kantar Analytics, he created and led Millward Brown Analytics.

GroupM UK restructures
WPP’s media investment group GroupM UK has shifted Niel Bornman, Lisa Humphreys, Paul Rowlinson, Simon Willis, Charlotte Frijns, and Mark Collins into new roles as part of a restructure.

Bornman, currently Global Chief Technology Officer – Data, Product & AI at WPP, move to GroupM UK in January to lead its products and services squad as Chief Product and Services Officer.

Humphreys, current WPP UK Strategy Development Director, will begin a dual role leading the transformation and integration squad as Chief Transformation and Integration Officer, alongside her current WPP role.

Rowlinson moves from Managing Director of Group Digital UK to become Chief Customer Engagement and Growth Officer.

Willis will move from Managing Director of Investment to become Chief Investment Officer – leading the media investment management squad.

Finance and business operations will come together as one led by Frijns, Chief Financial Officer at Group M UK.

Collins will move from Chair of Investment to overall GroupM UK Chair.

Tansill named transformation chief at Ogilvy
WPP’s Ogilvy New York has promoted Charlotte Tansill to the role of Chief Transformation Officer. She will lead an integrated strategy function for New York spanning all of the agency’s capabilities, while also partnering with Lauren Crampsie, President of Ogilvy New York, to drive the office’s business strategy and transformation.

Tansill has served in a range of roles across the Ogilvy network since joining in 2008, most recently serving as Executive Director of Ogilvy New York’s social media practice.

DDB promotes Hesz and Rooney
Alex Hesz and Roisin Rooney have been elevated to the roles of Global Chief Strategy Officer and Global Chief People Officer at DDB Worldwide respectively.

Hesz will oversee the entirety of DDB’s global offerings and has work to harness the collective power of the global network. He most recently led strategy for the DDB’s Europe, Middle East & Africa and was Head of Strategy for Adam&Eve. He will continue to serve as Adam&EveDDBs Group Chief Strategy Officer for operations in both New York and London.

Rooney will lead recruitment, retention, leadership development and training and initiatives to ensure DDB talent is continuously advancing to stay ahead of client needs. She previously held the role of EMEA Chief People Officer at Adam&Eve.

Adams joins Kubient as partnerships SVP
Kubient, a cloud advertising marketplace, has hired Ryan Adams as Senior Vice President of Partnerships. He is charged with driving demand-side revenue and supporting supply-side inventory with the ultimate goal of growing partnerships and furthering Kubient’s development of relationships with brands, agencies, and publishers.

Adams has over 20 years’ experience as a sales and marketing professional at companies including Centro, where he was Head of Client Direct and Publisher Solutions in the East region.

FutureBrand turns to Esquivel as strategy chief
Eliza Yvette Esquivel has been announced as Chief Strategy Officer at brand transformation company FutureBrand North America. She will lead and build client teams across the agency, while developing and executing transformative strategic work for their global roster of clients.

Esquivel brings 20 years of marketing experience to the role, having previously served as the Senior Director of Global Brand Strategy at Microsoft, where she led a senior team of global strategists and partnership managers that managed the company’s productivity software portfolio. Before that, she served as Vice President of Global Brand Strategy at Mondelez International.

Lawson Johnston to manage partnerships at Hudson MX
Ad tech firm Hudson MX has named Sarah Lawson Johnston as Executive Vice President, Managing Director of Agency Partnerships EMEA.

Lawson Johnston joins Hudson MX after three years on the launch team of Covatic, where she will remain on the Board of Directors. Prior to this, she spent 22 years at Mediocean where, as Managing Director for Europe, she focused on new and existing revenue, oversaw the offices in London, France and Germany, and had full responsibility for the company’s European client relationships and business.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Hudson MX at such an exciting inflection point,” said Lawson Johnston. “They secured proof of concept through their work in local markets, they’ve established a fully comprehensive platform to replace legacy providers as the system of record, and they’re now breaking ground with the global agencies. LivePerson adds Hamel and Higgins to exec team
Andrew Hamel has been hired as Executive Vice President of Operations and Emerging AI Businesses, while Shani Higgins has been appointed Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships, at conversational AI company LivePerson.

Hamel will oversee the daily operations of the company, help accelerate growth and scale, reimagine the future of work from a synchronous office-centric model to an asynchronous employee-centric workforce, and steer its business-to-consumer strategy and execution. Before joining LivePerson, he led the development of Amazon’s recommendation engines, search function, and other machine learning-powered experiences. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Tacit Software, Infoseek, and Tumbleweed.

“Im proud to join LivePersons team as we build the new operating model to scale to the next level,” said Hamel. “Conversational AI is bringing about a shift as profound as search and social did, and its an exciting time to join the industry leader in this space.”

Prior to joining LivePerson, she gained over two decades of experience at companies including Mozilla, Infoseek, and Ziff Davis, as well as in her role as CEO of Technorati.

Ionita joins Organic dev team
Digital marketing agency Organic has appointed George-Andrei Ionita as Senior Developer. He will be focusing on leading back end development across multiple projects and his day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and maintaining cloud-based applications and APIs, ensuring efficiency and stability of backend code, working to design application architecture and helping to develop departmental processes.

Previously a developer at Prodo Digital, Ionita’s experience also includes stints at Fact Digital and Skiddle.

Adjust makes three senior appointments
Melissa Dickman, Doug Grounds, and Guy Sheffer have all joined app marketing platform Adjust.

Dickman, as Regional Vice President of Sales for US East and LATAM, will focus on accelerating Adjust’s growth in the Americas. She has more than 20 years of experience within brand and performance marketing across traditional, digital, mobile, social and connected TV platforms. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President of Sales at Taptica, overseeing the East Coast expansion and US growth. Before that, she held sales leadership roles at companies including Viacom, AOL, and RhythmOne.

Grounds arrives as Vice President of Global Solutions Consulting. He will lead the global Solutions Consulting team focused on ensuring Adjust’s customers are receiving maximum value from its products and services. Grounds has more than 25 years of experience in media, web and business intelligence at companies such as Coremetrics (now IBM Web Analytics), Omniture, Adobe, Aggregate Knowledge, and Domo.

Sheffer, who has almost 25 years’ experience in R&D, joins as Vice President of R&D for Adjust’s Unbotify product. He is responsible for managing Unbotify’s product development, with the objective of making Adjust the market leader for in-app bot fraud detection. Prior to Adjust, Sheffer held VP-level roles at several mobile and SaaS companies, including Somatix, StartApp, SundaySky, and Jacada (acquired by Software AG).

Brown takes charge of agency partnerships at Selligent
Cloud technology company Selligent has appointed Dean Brown as its Vice President of Agency Partnerships. He will spearhead the company’s growing channel partner strategy and lead efforts for building, enabling and developing profitable partnerships with digital agencies and marketing service providers in North America. 

Brown joins Selligent with over 35 years’ experience in direct and indirect sales and sales management. Most recently, he was Senior Director of Partner Sales at Epsilon, where he led vertical market partnering initiatives with Adobe, SAP, Sitecore, and Crownpeak. Prior to Epsilon, Brown served as Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Neolane, later acquired by Adobe, where he ran strategic alliance partnerships in North America for Adobe Campaign.

Samba TV turns to Sanders as MD
Yasmin Sanders has been named as Managing Director for Australia at Samba TV, a cross-screen television analytics company. In this new Sydney-based role, she will oversee Samba TV’s strategy and execution in the Australian market.

Sanders brings nearly 20 years of experience in the advertising technology and media industry. She joins Samba TV from her consultancy business developed to help media and advertising technology clients to diversify and grow their revenue by building innovative market-first solutions. Previously, she held senior roles at companies like Verizon Media and ViacomCBS-owned Network 10.

“Samba TV’s unique ability to connect linear TV to over-the-top audiences provides an exciting opportunity for Australia’s platforms, advertisers, broadcasters, publishers, and measurement firms,” said Sanders. “The company’s cross-screen insights enable these marketers to boost their capabilities in planning, targeting, and measurement for their businesses and clients.”

Ryosuke takes Japan lead at YouAppi
YouAppi, an in-app advertising firm, has selected Izumi Ryosuke as its Country Manager for Japan. The appointment will enable YouAppi to specifically focus on growth in the Japanese market.

Ryosuke has over 15 years of experience in the advertising technology space. Previously, he was a Vice President for AdColony.  Prior to AdColony, he was the Head of Sales at Vungle in Japan for almost two years.  

“I am thrilled to join YouAppi and lead growth in the Japan region,” said Ryosuke. “With mobile marketing being an $80B yearly industry, Japan contributes to a significant part of this. YouAppi already has experienced strong growth in Japan and Asia in user acquisition, and now mobile app retargeting will be our focus.”

Cavai hires Smith to head up advertiser experiences
Karol Smith has arrived at conversational advertising company Cavai as its Global head of Advertiser Experiences. Starting 1 September, she will focus on service delivery and the overall experience of Cavai’s client base, all the way through from onboarding its proprietary ad cloud technology to campaign delivery and oversight.

Smith was Global Digital Marketing Lead at HSBC for 13 years.

“I can’t wait to get Cavai’s ground-breaking service out to more industry partners, brands and agencies,” Smith commented. “Conversational advertising is one of the new frontiers of advertising; as yet largely untapped and at times misunderstood. There is so much potential for brands to boost engagement and connections with their audiences and Cavai’s technology enables advertisers to do just that.”

Czerny to front customer success at Uberall
Location marketing firm Uberall has added André Czerny to its team as Senior Vice President of Customer Success. In the role, he will help further Uberalls company growth through developing relationships with its customers and partners.

Czerny joins Uberall after many years in customer success and change management positions at leading technology SaaS companies, including Salesforce and Microsoft. At Salesforce, helped design and build the company’s European customer success programme for its Commerce Cloud platform, and was later responsible for the complete Renewal Revenue Stream for the company’s DACH and Nordic regions. At Microsofts Customer Success Unit, Czerny led the Business Applications Team, supporting enterprise customers through strategic change management in their digital transformation from on-premise to the cloud.

“Building a trusted, sustainable business relationship with customers and partners is central to Uberalls continued success,” said Czerny. “My aim is to integrate business partners as well as customers into the customer success framework so that we can sustain and expand Uberalls market-leading position. Organic looks to Allen as project manager
Kate Allen has been appointed as Digital Project Manager at digital agency Organic. She will be working into Organics Operations Director, Charlie Lycett-Smith, working across multiple digital marketing and website development projects.

Having come from edtech company, Sparx, where she was a Project Manager, prior to this, Kate held the role of Operations & Projects Manager at City Science. In her previous roles, she delivered projects for Innovate UK, the NHS, and her local government.

“Organic’s focus on ‘Digital for Good’ attracted me to the agency, as I have always chosen to work for companies that focus on using technology to make a positive impact,” said Allen. “I am really looking forward to joining the PMO team + seeing where my new role takes me.”

Henley to lead sales at Q-83
Q-83, an influencer martech startup, has announced the appointment of Chris Henley as Head of Sales and Partnerships for the UK and Europe. Reporting to Managing Director and Founder Anthony Richardson, he will be responsible for generating revenue from agencies and brands within the UK and across Europe.

Henley has previously worked closely with brands such as NordVPN, Marks & Spencer, Stella McCartney, and Beano, as well as a number of traditional full-service agencies including PHD, Mediacom, Publicis, and MSL.

Molzi selects De La Mata to lead agency development
Gonzalo de la Mata has joined Molzi, a full-service Amazon seller agency, as its Head of Global Agency Development. He is tasked with building relationships with media agencies and supporting Molzi’s commitment to find and conquer Amazon growth opportunities for the world’s biggest brands.

De La Mata was formerly Managing Director UK at Adglow, where he was responsible for the Amazon sales performance of the agency’s consumer clients. Before that, he was Group Commercial Operations Director at Glow Digital Media.

“Covid-19 has reinforced to brands that if they’re not performing well on Amazon, they are missing out. Media agencies are reacting to the trend and supporting clients on the platform but are quickly realising that deep expertise and knowledge about the Amazon ecosystem is needed to succeed and accelerate growth quickly,” said De La Mata. “Advertising on Amazon has recently become a sophisticated weapon for marketers. It has proven successful for upper funnel campaigns with PPC and now the advanced programmatic DSP is giving brands more choice for conversions. Amazon’s latest results show marketers are investing heavily here.

Host of promotions made at Kin + Carta
Kin + Carta, a digital transformation business, has made a number of promotions to bolster its leadership team. David Tuck has been promoted to Group Chief Executive of Kin + Carta Europe, Stephen Wilson has been elevated to Global Chief Technology Officer, and Matthew Froggatt has become Global Chief Strategy Officer.

Reporting into Global CEO J Schwan, Tuck will roll out a new go-to-market strategy that binds Kin + Carta’s three core pillars (Advise, Create and Connect) into one unified proposition across the European market. 

Wilson is charged with building a clear vision of the role technology plays in the business’ long-term vision. Tuck and Wilson were previously joint Managing Directors at Kin + Carta Create Europe – the MD role will now be held solely by Kin + Carta Create Europe’s Lindsay Ratcliffe.

Froggatt will play a central role in strategic planning and nurturing capabilities, alongside overseeing and supporting Kin + Carta’s B Corp initiative. He’ll be holding this role concurrently with his position as CEO of Incite.

The Independent names Leonard first CEO
Zach Leonard has been promoted to the newly created role of chief executive officer at The Independent. Working closely with Independent Digital News & Media Ltd (IDNML) chairman John Paton, he will focus on the continued expansion of the digital title, particularly amongst its growing North American audience.

Leonard joined The Independent and The Evening Standard in 2010 as managing director of digital and has since driven record audience and revenue growth for both titles. In 2016, he led the business transformation of IDNML, following the closure of The Independent newspaper and sale of the I newspaper to Johnston Press.

“It has been a tremendous privilege to lead The Independent’s digital transformation so far,” Leonard commented. “I look forward to extending the brand’s influence and commercial success in new territories, languages and channels in years to come.”

Shutterstock has hired Jarrod Yahes as its chief financial officer, effective 9 December. Reporting to founder and chief executive officer Jon Oringer, he will lead Shutterstock’s finance, investor relations, and accounting functions.

Yahes arrives at Shutterstock with more than 20 years of financial experience. Since October 2016, he has served as CFO at Zeta Global. Previously, he was CFO at Jackson Hewitt services and he has served in multiple capacities at ExlService Holdings, where he advanced to senior vice president, controller. Earlier in his career, he worked at Citi and started his career at Ernst & Young.

“Shutterstock’s vibrant business and sustained growth over the last 16 years is commendable,” said Yahes. “I look forward to implementing additional efficiencies and strategies to solidify its position for long-term success and further its vision of being the leading creative platform in the market.”

BMB brings in Wallace as MD
Claudia Wallace has been appointed managing director at advertising agency BMB. She will focus on the day-to-day running of the agency, taking responsibility for client growth, both organic and new business, and report to chief executive officer Jason Cobbold. She will also work closely alongside founder David Bain, chief creative officer Matt Lever, and head of strategy Melanie Arrow.

Wallace joins from BBH London, where she was business lead on Samsung global and European campaigns. Before BBH, she was head of marketing and new business and business director at Y&R, where she ran the Chanel, Home Office, and Oxfam accounts, as well as working on Lloyds Bank and Marks & Spencer. Wallace has also worked at Mediacom in Singapore and at Possible in New York, both in strategy roles on the regional accounts of Coca-Cola, Pringles and Revlon.

Plant chosen to lead strategy at Starcom
Publicis Groupe-owned Starcom has hired Dan Plant as executive head of strategy. Reporting directly to chief executive officer Mark Howley, he will be responsible for developing Starcom’s overall strategic product and driving Starcom’s business proposition in the UK. He will also have a focus on attracting and continuing to grow talent across the business.

Plant will have the lead strategy role on Samsung and will work closely with managing director Nadine Young, data and tech managing partner Isabelle Baas, and global head of creativity and innovation Amy Kean.

In his almost 20 years’ experience, Plant has worked with brands including Netflix, Vodafone, Nestlé and Compare the Market. His previous positions include global strategy partner at Wavemaker, group strategy director at MEC UK, and head of integrated planning at Vizeum.

Telaria selects Giblin to head up demand
Mark Giblin has joined Telaria, a video management platform, as head of demand. Based in the London office, he will work closely with more than 45 plugged-in video demand partners that count on Telaria’s premium inventory.

Giblin was most recently vice president of business development at News Corp’s Unruly. In this role, he was responsible for growing the Unruly exchange business and led the team’s managing relationships with programmatic demand partners across both the US and EMEA. Prior to that, he held a variety of roles at companies including PubMatic, The Financial Times and The Telegraph.

Baert becomes Mention CEO
Media monitoring firm Mention, owned by NHST Media Group subsidiary Mynewsdesk, has named Jean-Philippe Baert as its chief executive officer.

Baert arrives with over 30 years of experience in the martech and software industry across companies in France, the UK, and the US. He was previously chief operations officer at Arago and has also held positions including vice president of Marketing Cloud South EMEA at Salesforce, executive vice president at Cheetah digital, and general manager at QAD Europe.

“I am extremely excited to join a start-up equipped with fresh talent, a global mindset and innovative tech. What attracted me most about the business is our firm footing in the US market as a European SaaS company. I want to accelerate our growth to become a global market leader and build off the momentum established by our Paris and New York offices,” commented Baert.

RewardStyle opts for Bodin as CTO
Bill Bodin has been recruited as chief technology officer at influencer marketing monetisation platform RewardStyle. He will play a key role in leading the company’s innovation endeavours and shape its technological vision and future product roadmap, while working to grow the platform’s base of influencers, retailers, and consumers.

Boasting more than 30 years of technology industry experience, Bodin was most recently CTO at Kony. Here, he chaired the Reference Architecture Council, led technology and strategy assessments, led the company’s intellectual property efforts, enhanced Kony’s Quantum platform, and filed 11 patents relating to artificial intelligence. Before Kony, he was CTO for IBM’s mobile computing CIO group.

Reynolds to direct on product delivery at Potato
Potato, a digital product development studio owned by WPP’s AKQA, has chosen Ian Reynolds as product delivery director of its London studio. Reporting to group product delivery director Cat Wildman, his specific remit is to drive progressive product delivery approaches throughout the business, mentoring and growing the team’s product leads and agile coaches.

Reynolds, who most recently headed up delivery for Havas-owned Ekino, brings more than 15 years’ experience in facilitation, agile delivery and client engagement to his latest role. He was part of the Effie award-winning team that produced Britain’s Beer Alliance website, which looked to showcase the struggles of pubs in the face of an impending rise in beer tax.

AccuWeather adds three to its board
Laura Lang, Lisa M. Shalett, and Sean Cohan will all be joining the AccuWeather board of directors, subject to approval by shareholders.

Lang is the founder and managing director of Narragansett Ventures. She previously served as chief executive officer of Time Inc., where she led the digital transformation of their publishing business prior to its launch as an independent publicly traded company, and was also previously global CEO of Digitas. She holds board positions at VF Corporation, Steiner Leisure, ICX Media and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and is an advisor to L Catterton.

Shalett is a retired Goldman Sachs partner who now advises and invests in growth companies and serves on public and private boards. In her over 20 years at Goldman Sachs, she held a number of leadership roles, ranging from head of international equities to chief operating officer of global compliance, legal and internal audit. Most recently, she was global head of brand marketing and digital strategy. Since leaving Goldman, Shalett served as chief marketing officer of a fast-growing millennials-focused media company, and head of strategic innovation at Brookfield Asset Management. She currently serves on the board of Bully Pulpit Interactive.

Cohan serves as president of Wheelhouse Entertainment, where he is responsible for driving content and marketing opportunities across multiple businesses and platforms, including talent, brand, and other strategic, corporate partnerships for the company. Prior to Wheelhouse, he spent nearly 15 years at A+E Networks, most recently serving as president of international and digital media. He also previously held roles at Primeida, Morgan Stanley, NBC, and A.T. Kearney. Cohan is director/trustee on the boards of The Opportunity Network, Parrish Art Museum, the Banff World Media Festival, and 2btube.

Andretta picks up role at Alliance Data helm
Alliance Data Systems Corporation, a provider of data-driven marketing and loyalty solutions, has selected Ralph Andretta as its president and chief executive officer, effective 3 February 2020. Succeeding a Melisa miller, who served in the role following the retirement of Ed Heffernan, he will also join Alliance Data’s board of directors.

Andretta will join Alliance Data Citigroup, where he most recently served as managing director and head of its US cards business. Before his time at Citi, he was a global affinity products and international card executive at Bank of America and, prior to that, he spent 18 years with American Express.

Button makes four exec changes
Ken Stelzer, Stephanie Mardell, and Jonathan Shottan have all been added to the executive team at mobile commerce optimisation platform Button, with co-founder Chris Maddern shifting into the newly created role of chief innovation officer.

Stelzer, who brings nearly 20 years of experience to Button, has been appointed chief financial officer. He will build a strategic finance function at the company to accelerate revenue and profit growth. He was, most recently, CFO at Zocdoc and, prior to that, CFO at Bankrate and Integreon.

Mardell has been promoted to the role of chief people officer, having previously served as vice president of people. Prior to arriving at Button, she spent more than a decade scaling teams during periods of significant growth while establishing operational best practices such as compensation and recognition programs, management training and development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives at Square, Airtime, and Isaacson Miller.

Shottan succeeds Maddern as chief product officer. He will lead all aspects of Button’s product organisation, which includes product management, design, and partner engineering. Before Button, he was general manager and head of global growth at Pinterest. He also previously led a product division within Facebook Ads, and has held product and operations roles at companies including Turn and SideStep.

Cruz promoted at Tinuiti
Digital marketing agency Tinuiti has elevated Hiram Cruz to associate director of creative from his role as manager of graphic design. Reporting to vice president of creative Tom Olivieri, he will manage the agency’s Amazon-focused design services division and its growing team of creative professionals.

Cruz has worked in graphic design for eight years, He was the first graphic designer at CPC Strategy, where he helped to establish one of the industry’s first dedicated Amazon creative practices. He continued to grow the creative team following CPC Strategy’s acquisition by Elite SEM and later rebrand to Tinuiti.

OpenSlate looks to Hill as APAC MD
Poppy Hill has been picked by video measurement and analytics firm OpenSlate as its APAC managing director. Based in the company’s Sydney office, she is responsible for driving regional business development efforts, and the greater adoption of the OpenSlate brand safety solution across the region.

Hill has spent the last seven years developing programmatic marketplaces and commercial strategies in senior positions at InMobi, Multi-Channel Network, and Network 10. Most recently, she was the head of programmatic at InMobi, where she was responsible for the Australia and New Zealand marketplace.

“I’m excited to be joining OpenSlate to steer the APAC business to its next level of growth,” Hill commented. “The recent Nielsen alliance ensures that our buyers have access to more control over their video inventory, which is imperative. Three join PreciseTarget exec team
PreciseTarget, a retail-focused data management company, has hired Mitch Paletz as senior vice president of channel partnerships, Andrew McCasker as chief technology officer, and Brian Gaziano as vice president of marketing.

Paletz will oversee strategic partnerships and raise awareness for the company’s taste-based retail audience segments. He most recently served as vice president of partnerships & channels at Mobilewalla, where he oversaw partnership and channel distribution relationships with technology platforms. He also served as vice president at InMobi.

McCasker will lead the data science and technology teams at PreciseTarget. He takes on the role after serving as CTO at DynAgility, where he provided technology leadership on multiple client engagements. Prior, he served as CTO at Fishbowl.

Graziano will lead the development and implementation of the company’s overall marketing initiatives. He joins from Alarm.com, where, as director of consumer marketing, he built and led the company’s consumer marketing team and was responsible for brand and performance marketing efforts. Before that, he developed B2B marketing programmes for strategic partners at Gannett and oversaw digital marketing strategies for various clients at LM&O Advertising.

Organic opts for Burley to head up client services
Tim Burley has been appointed as the first-ever head of client services at digital agency Organic. Reporting to managing director Ben Scoggins, he will oversee the agency’s client service and commercial function.

Burley joins Organic from Believe In, where he was strategic director. He has also previously been managing director at Design Stable and a director at Red Rocket. Clients he has worked with include Fontsmith, Eden Project, Greenwich Peninsula, UKHO, and Pinnacle Group.

“Having known of Organic for a while now, I’ve recently become aware of their evolved and sophisticated offering,” said Burley. “I’m really looking forward to strengthening the experiences that their clients enjoy and working with a great team to deliver real value.
